Vienna brushed off her Third Eye Blind shirt, and wondered if she could wear it to work. But then again, that would mean she would also have to change her whole nineties-mom-jean look. And she was fond of what she was wearing, so she decided to take a risk.

See, it was Vienna's first day of work in the music store, and she was really nervous. And Venice was in school, probably being distracted by Matty texting her, but Vienna didn't care. As long as Venice was in school most of the time, and ended up graduating, it would be fine.

Vienna rode her bike downtown, to the music shop, and parked it outside. She wiped her palms on her jeans, taking in a deep breath before walking in, hearing a chime ring from above her in the doorway. She shoved her hands in her pockets, and looked around the two story store, shyly admiring the vinyls around her.

"Hey, welcome to Stranger's Music Shop." Someone spoke from the balcony, making her jump. She blinked a few times, biting her lip to gather herself.

"A-are you Murray?" She stuttered. The boy leaned against the balcony smiled at her.

"I'm not, but I'm Jay. I work with Murray." He explained. "Are you the infamous Vienna?" He inquired.

"I-I guess." She shrugged.

"Alright, come on up." He invited her, gesturing her toward the stairs. She breathed deeply, heading up them tentatively. "I've heard a lot about you." He told her once she had seen the upstairs.

It was pretty much all couches, old records hanging off the walls, a couple guitars stood up next to the couches, and a drum set in the corner. There was an office behind the stairs, and a single chair with a blanket draped across it.

"R-really? I'm n-not that interesting." She shook her head, and he just smiled.

"If you're the right girl, you're the one on Kilmer that people spot once in a blue moon." She nodded her head hesitantly. "Well there are some pretty crazy conspiracy theories about you." He told her.

"Oi! Don't be scaring off the new girl, Jay. We need some estrogen in our shop." A voice from the office called, and she heard the rolling of wheels before a man came out of the office, sitting in a desk chair.

He looked like someone who was a rock and roll father, with his salt and pepper hair, Vans, and a slightly pudgy belly. He looked kind spirited and easy going, and gave her a good vibe from the start, and she became increasingly excited about her new job.

"H-hello sir. I'm V-Vienna. I believe we talked o-on the phone." And no matter how excited she was, she was still shaking in her bones with nervousness.

"Yeah, I'm Murray. And you gotta lighten up, kid. I promise we're not gonna hurt ya." He chimed, laughing a bit. She shook her head, going to object, when he held his hand up. "Vienna, relax. This is the easiest job in the world. I mean, Jay has it, and he's a senior in high school, and he falls asleep on the couch all the time and still does a good job. I promise you'll be okay." He eased her.

"Thank you. I-I really needed that." She told him, and he nodded.

"Of course." He said. "So pretty much, all you need to do it make sure the place isn't filth, and when a customer comes in, be available for help. And we get shipments of music on Thursdays, if I place an order, and the place to check that is here." And Murray went on to explain how the job worked, with Jay chiming in every so often, and she felt sort of comfortable in the music shop, where her hours differed from Jay's, except on Friday's, because he somehow got those off.

And Vienna biked home with a grin on her face, and she was so happy. She finally had a job, and she already loved it, and it was only the first day. And she was nearly home, when she saw that all of her house doors were open, and she became worried because what if someone had robbed her. And suddenly her great day became not so great.
