She sobbed, her lips trembled when she saw the ring on her finger. It reminded her so much of him and she was never going to take it out. Emily rubbed her back, trying to calm her down. "Maya, you have to stop doing this to yourself!"

Maya went on and on, more tears rolling down her cheeks as she thought of him. She couldn't take it anymore, she needed him. She needed him more than ever. He was her beating heart and without him, it seemed like her heart will stop beating anytime sooner.

"Just forget about him—it's been four months, Maya!" Emily shrugged.

Looking at Emily, Maya frowned. "Forget about him?" She wiped her tears, breathing in as much air as possible.

Emily narrowed her eyes.

"How do you expect me to forget him?" Maya asked, her voice scratchy. "I—I can't live without him," she said softly and sat on her bed. She clutched her blanket, letting the tears fall. Emily landed beside her, her hand on Maya's shoulder.

"You really need a break from all of this," Emily sighed. "He's your past, you need to focus on the future—your future,"

Exhaling heavily, Maya squeezed her eyes shut, letting the last tears to fall, drop by drop. She took a deep breath, and exhaled shakily. Shaking her head, Maya whispered, "I don't have a future! Without him, I'm nothing but an empty soul."
