A L - N I H A Y A

[arabic → the end]

Tahira smiled as she saw Maya walking along the candle-lit walkway towards the altar where Nathan waited. He had a huge smile plastered on his face, pure happiness showing in his eyes. Maya was beautiful, the wedding gown that Tahira bought fitted her perfectly.

Tahira flashed a little grin at the sight of Nathan, where he winked at her, mouthing the words 'thank you'. Nathan needn't to thank her, he should thank himself for making Maya smile again. After all, Maya suffered too much already.

Clutching the soft fabric of her dress, she tried hard to hold back the coming tears. It was too painful—painful of seeing Nathan with another girl. She could've sworn that she was crazy, crazy of Nathan.

She knew that Nathan was made for someone else but that thought pained her. Ever since she laid her eyes on him, she fell in deep love. Tahira fell in love with his electrifying blue eyes. She fell in love with his full lips. She fell in love with his honey scent—in fact, she fell in love with every aspect of him.

Claps and cheers from the people around her brought her back to reality. She realised that she was shedding her tears and it was trailing down her cheeks uncontrollably. Tahira cocked her head up when the cheers grew louder, followed by loud claps. It was then she saw Nathan and Maya kissing—a sign showing that Nathan was no longer Maya's fiancé, but her legally wedded husband.

The sight of them together hurt her even though she knew she couldn't do anything, but she wanted him—Tahira wanted Nathan to be hers. But it was too late.

When they both pulled away, they had one of the most beautiful smiles on their faces—a smile so bright that it seemed as though the whole hall lighted up because of them. They were happy, so happy that they had tears in their eyes, and Tahira didn't want to take the happiness away from them, so she did what she had to do.

Tahira rose from her wooden chair and waved one last time at both of them and when they waved back, she turned away. She hid her tears as she walked away from them, her heart shattering into a million pieces.

Because Tahira knew that Nathan wasn't the man who left Maya, but he was the man who left her.
