Amber's POV:
I hurried down the hallway, trying not to think of the fiasco last night.
"Alexis! My love!" Syrus called.
I screamed. "Alexis! Someone's here!"
"Eeeeeeee!"
Yeah, that was bad. I would have turned in Jaden and Syrus and Maya, but Jaden won, so it's fair, I guess.
Class didn't start for another half an hour, so I hung out at the duel arena, leaning over the railing, daydreaming about kicking a certain Obelisk's butt on that arena.
A pair of arms wrapped around my waist from behind, and a voice said, "Hello, Amber."
Speak of the devil.
"Chazz-"
"Shut up," he said, tightening his grip on me and pushing up against the railing.
"Let go!" I exclaimed.
Chazz chuckled in my ear. "I don't think so," he whispered.
I shivered. "Please."
Chazz roughly turned me around so I was facing him. "I'll let go when you kiss me," he said, cupping my chin with his hand, smirking.
I sighed. "Not this again."
He smiled. "Oh, Amber, please."
Finally, I reluctantly pushed myself off the railing and pressed my lips to his. He instantly responded, pushing back and smirking.
When he pulled back I tried to punch him in the gut, but he stepped out of the way and I fell flat on my face. "Ouch!"
"Disobedient servants get punished," Chazz said with a casual shrug.
I groaned as I got to my feet. "You're a total jerk," I groaned, staggering to my feet.
The Obelisk smiled. "No, you're just too weak to stand up to me."
Chazz offered his arm. "Walk with me to class?"
I reluctantly took his arm, wincing. I'd twisted my ankle when I fell. Chazz noticed too. "Oh, sorry. I guess that was my bad."
Was he actually being nice?
Chazz put my arm around his shoulders and whispered in my ear, "You fell down the stairs."
Figures.
When we got to class, I remembered that tomorrow would be the exams. After class, everyone ran to get the booster cards.
"Hey losers!" Chazz shouted to his cronies. "Get Amber and me some booster packs!"
The two Obelisks glared at me, but headed off.
Chazz and I headed off to the duel arena, waiting for the two Obelisks to show up.
I was standing with my back to the wall, with Chazz next to me. Suddenly, he cleared his throat and turned to me. "Look, Amber, I- uh-"
"Hey Chazz!" a voice called, interrupting Chazz. "You're not gonna believe this!"
After they told us about the missing booster cards, Chazz and I were shocked. Until Dr. Crawler showed up and gave Chazz some rare cards, insisting that he beat him tomorrow.
Then Crawler turned to me and said, "I expect a full victory against Miss Devlin tomorrow."
