If the photo works it's of Sky

She woke up feeling sore and numb at the same time, an odd combination really. She stared at the ceiling for a minute before rolling over to see Sky sitting in a chair near her bed, his feet resting on the bed next to her legs and his head tipped back, sound asleep.

She knew he'd been there all night and she felt bad, he had to be tired and stiff. She slowly tested her muscles pulling herself from the bed carefully. She stood and was walking carefully passed him when she heard a phone vibrating. She paused and realized it was Sky's in his jacket pocket, his leather jacket hanging on the back of the chair he occupied.

She reached into the pocket pulling out his cell phone and a few other things fell to the ground.

"Hello?"

"Is Sky there?" A female voice asked.

"No, can I take a message?"

"Just tell him Holly called."

"Sure," Jenny agreed.

"Thanks."

Holly hung up and Jenny flipped the phone closed but her attention wasn't on the phone or the call, or the fact that Holly had called Sky, it was on the pictures that lay on the floor. She slowly knelt down and picked up the ones closest to her. Images of her in her home, at work, going about her day and one of her in the shower.

"Jenny?" Sky slowly came awake.

"Sky.....what....what is this?" She asked.

He turned and it took a minute or two before he realized what she had in her hands, the photographs he'd been trying to hide. He rocketed from the chair and tried to grab them from her but she jerked back in time.

"Jenny....it's not what you think."

"How long have you had these Sky? How long have those people been watching me?"

"Calm down, it's okay."

"Sky?! How long!?" She demanded.

"A few days ago Lou gave them to me...I didn't know they were going to hurt you."

She took a step backwards letting the pictures fall from her fingers and float to the floor. Her head spun and she stumbled passed Sky to sit on the bed. Someone had been watching her and she had no idea how close they were.

"Jenny, you're safe here I promise." he sat next to her.

"They were in my house Sky, they saw me in the shower, in my bed..."

"I know."

"And you....you looked at them," She shivered.

He felt lower than dirt, sure he had looked at them in the limousine when they were given to him but it could have and should have ended there. He didn't need to carry them with him and look at them every again, he didn't need to but oh, he did.

"Nobody else has seen them, I'll burn them."

"That's not the point, do you have any idea what it feels like to know....that....someone has bee watching me?"

"I'm sorry Jenny."

"Money, all of this because of money. I'm not safe in my home and I was tortured because you owe some asshole money."

"Jenny......"

"Just...leave me alone please."

"Jen..."

"Just go!" She yelled, shoving at him.

He stood casting her a pained expression, he knew this was his fault but Jenny had always been the one person he could count on. Her pushing him away physically and emotionally was like a knife to his heart.

"Just get out!" She yelled.

Turning he hurried from the room, pulling the door shut behind him and leaning against it for just a minute. Through the thin wooden door he heard her break into sobs, the sound tearing through him until he felt tears in his own eyes.

"I'm sorry Jenny," he said softly, knowing he couldn't hear her.

He stood in that hallway for a few long minutes listening to her cry before he couldn't take anymore and he headed to the lounge area. Pouring himself a large drink and downing it in one shot.

"Are you okay?" Morgan asked from beside him.

"The last person....I ever wanted to hurt was Jenny."

"She knows that," Morgan said gently.

"No, I don't think she does. I've always been such a screw up."

"Jenny loves you, she adores you, you're her big brother."

"I am but....she...she has always kept me on track and grounded and now....I don't know."

"She's been through a lot but she'll come around." Morgan promised.

"I wouldn't let her date Raphael, when he was here they.....but I told him to back off and he did. I thought I was protecting her but now, I keep thinking maybe she'd be better off if she'd went with him."

"Stop! She wouldn't be and you know that, you're both just hurt."

He sighed heavily and ran his hand over his head, he was getting a migraine. Reaching for the bottle of whiskey he poured himself another drink but didn't drink it, he just stared into the amber liquid as if it had the answers he needed.

"Are you in love with her?" Morgan asked bluntly.

"Who?"

"Jenny."

"What? No, she's....she's my sister," He said downing the drink.

"Step-sister. It's not completely unheard of."

"It would kill her father and....it's just....I'm not in love with her."

Morgan gave him a look that said she didn't quite believe him and then poured herself a drink, downing it in a single swallow.

"Good luck," She gave him a pat on the shoulder.

She walked away leaving him alone at the bar, he was not in love with his sister. He repeated the mantra in his head a few times as he downed a few more shots. Once he was good and half way drunk he went to the garage to work. If he could keep himself busy he could keep himself in denial.
