It was my first day on set for the television series, Once Upon a Time. I was guest starring as one of the new lead roles on the show this season. As I walked into the warehouse we were filming in that day, a tall boy with brown hair and bright, green eyes looks over to me. He has fair skin, but not as pale as mine. I guess you could say he seemed very athletic and most likely has a six-pack.
“Hey. I’m Robbie Kay, you know, the one who plays Peter Pan,” he says now walking up to me, “You must be Marie.”
“Ummmm...ya.” I say, getting lost in his eyes. They were mesmerizing. Actually, he was mesmerizing…
“We’ll start filming in thirty minutes. Be ready. Your dressing room is over there.” He says, pointing to a door with my name on it.
“Thanks.” I say awkwardly, snapping out of my trance and walk off.
I got chosen to play the role of Henry’s long lost sister, Hannah. She is the long lost daughter of Regina and the Stable Boy. Ever since the first curse, she was transported to the real world with Pinocchio and Emma, and Regina forgot about her. Now she was eighteen and living in Neverland, assuming she was lost, never to find her parents. As she stayed, she grew feeling for Peter.
I loved her character. She had almost the exact same personality as I did: strong, daring yet shy, and super curious about everything.
As I walk into the dressing room I take in my surroundings, considering I would be coming here every day for the next month or so. The vanity against the back wall looked like those you see in movies or on “American Idol”, with the big lights covering the perimeter of the mirror.
I gasped in admiration as I saw my costume dangling from a hanger in the crook of the space. The outfit I was wearing was a long, elegant ball gown. It’s a bright aqua color, covered in counterfeit diamonds. I wear a simple yet delicate tiara with a sort of leaf pattern with my hair in a messy, middle bun. My heels are also metallic and covered in diamonds. The entire getup had a very sophisticated and upper class air to it.
I was supposed to be the one to fall in love with Peter Pan and eventually find his soft spot. And the ironic thing is that I do consider Robbie Kay quite adorable.
After getting all of my makeup on with the help of my makeup artists, I step out of my dressing room to see Robbie in his Peter Pan costume. I seriously think that the costume designers should earn some sort of award or something because is attire is even more marvelous in person than on TV. He wears a shirt mad of forest green and deep brown rags, with brown pants and knee-high boots. He wears his signature arm cuff thingies and has his hair in a more proper flip do.
I stride over to him, slightly lifting my dress as it left a long train on the ground.
“Wow, you look…beautiful.” Robbie says, timid and humble as ever.
“Um, thanks. You do too, I guess.” I stutter. Did he just call me beautiful? I think I just died inside.
“Aw, thanks. I think I’m pretty beautiful too.” He mimics, teasing me flirtatiously.
I giggle. Leave it to Robbie to be hilarious.
We walk up to the green screen room that was all set up for our scene. And, of course, right at this very moment we were filming the scene where Hannah and Peter Pan kiss. Great. Way to mess with my emotions.
“The truth is, Hannah, well…I guess I’ve been in love with you for a while and-“ Robbie begins, saying his lines perfectly with a ton of sentiment. He was an incredible actor.
“Don’t worry, Peter, I love you too.” I finish his sentence.
I run over and embrace him, and he swings me a full three-hundred-and-sixty degrees chuckling softly. As he sets me down, we gaze into each other’s eyes. Slowly, we both lean in, until our lips touch ever so slightly like you were supposed to do when performing.
Robbie moved his hands slowly form my back down to my hips and I move mine up around his neck and softly pull his hair. This wasn’t part of the script but it just felt so…right.
But Robbie all of a sudden goes full make-out mode. I couldn’t resist, I just had to return the favor. We kissed for what seemed like minutes, when we heard a loud “CUT!” from behind us. We pull away and stare at the producer questionably.
“What was that?” he asks a little angry.
“What?” I reply innocently.
“You guys completely made out! That was not in the script at all!”
“Sorry sir, that was all me.” Robbie replies honestly, turning towards me his cheeks blushing a bright, rosy pick, “I guess I got a bit too ‘in the moment’ I suppose.”
“Just don’t let it happen again,” The producer yells, returning to his chair, “You can save that for after we film.”
Robbie walks up beside me and whispers in my ear, “I’ve wanted to do that ever since I laid my eyes on you.
