Childhood

Arts and crafts, messy games, gum in my hair just isn't the same.
Freeze tag, knots in my hair, and truth or dare, but will you still be there?
Mac and cheese, PB&J, why don't you just make my day.
Being a child was always fun I wish we could've stayed in the sun.
Now we've gone and grown apart, I'm still looking at pictures of our old art.
You moved away and I stayed here, hoping someday our paths would be clear.
Freeze tag, knots in my hair, and truth or dare, I know I will still be there.
You've grown up and I have too, tell me why I'm still so blue?
And everyday through passing hours, I remember how we picked those flowers.
All the movies we'd watch and games we'd play, will never ever be the same.
I have kids and you do too, it's amazing how the time just flew.
But we'll come back one day you'll see, as we look upon our memories.
Freeze tag, knots in my hair, and truth or dare, and both of us will be there.
