The Human Race

Sometimes you don't know what to say,
So you sit
And wander in the day.

No one can see the pain on your face
As you try to make it through this Race.

'But you can't win even if you try.'

Something pulls you from this lie.

Your running is pointless!
And your trying to press

The button at the end,
Because then all will end.

The race is your life and you want it to be over.
The pain is your strife and it's trying to takeover.
You want to sit down
And take a break,
Because no one knows
How bad your muscles ache.

You're screaming as tears fall, but your running continues.
No one else sees this or any of your issues.
You want someone to stop you and just give you a hug,
But you've come so far alone and look what you've dug?

A hole to fit all your problems into,
So you can be in the stands too!
And someone else will dawn the mask
And you will be able to bask

In the sunlight like others before you
But you can't because you know you'd still be blue.

'Knowing you did that to somebody else
Would
Make the pain
Grow itself.'

How others did you don't understand
But it seems their in another land.
You can see them, they're in the crowd.
You've stopped but their cheers are still loud.

You wonder if giving up the pain is worth that facade,
With or without it you are still flawed.

So you put the mask on and keep on running.
You know what they've done isn't cunning.

No one sees your pain but at least you feel something,
So you keep on going hoping that button is coming.
