Pain comes like a wave. Sometimes it's all at once, but other times it's slow allowing you to breathe.
And for a second you're no longer drowning.
The tide starts to go back out to sea and you think the pain is finally gone.
But it will never be fully gone, some remnants of it will always be there.
Lingering until something triggers you and the pain can return,
and it's just as bad as before.
