Chapter 4
Colton's POV
What. The. Hell.
She disappeared. As in, she left. Teleported. She definitely wasn't invisible. I would've been able to feel her presence in the room if she was.
There was the sound of a car door opening outside. It was most likely John, coming home from work.
I connected to his mind quickly, hearing his mind speech as if he were next to me talking.
Hey, John! You there?
Yeah, what's wrong.
She escaped.
What do you mean?
Violet can teleport. She doesn't know about mutants yet either.
Oh shoot.

Violet's POV
The trees were never ending as I uselessly wondered around them, their branches reaching out to me, seeking warmth. The trees were so dense, only small blobs of light could be seen. The forest floor was uneven, roots popping up from the earth, rocks protruding from the floor, rotting leaves covering the dirt underneath.
'This certainly isn't America.' I thought to myself.
I continued to shiver as I walked through the forest. I suddenly saw that the trees were different. Looking at them closer, I saw that they were in fact Pine trees..
'Curiouser and curiouser.' Ha! Gotta love Alice.
I suddenly saw a patch of light before me. The end of the forest! I started to run towards it, forgetting about the cold. Squirrels raced through trees around me, chasing each other while running from the threat. Stepping out, I saw that I was in something like a national park. 'Hallelujah!' I mentally shouted. I saw an info board and a park bench in front of me. Running towards it, I looked at the map.
"Jasper National Park of...
CANADA?!"
I suddenly started to hyperventilate. How am I going to get back to America? How the hell did I get here anyways? Deciding there was nothing else to do but familiarise my surroundings, I took a calm walk along the path, trying my best to collect my thoughts.

Three hours and twenty minutes later, salvation decided to appear. Because, guess what I found? A pay phone! My mind was singing songs of pure joy as it came into view. My tired legs picked themselves up, running towards the end of my long, long, journey.
I stepped onto the platform and quickly rang the only phone number I knew by heart.
"ESME!!!" I shouted as she picked up.
"Vi? Vi! WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN AND WHY IS THE FBI IN FRONT OF YOUR FREAKING HOUSE!!" She screamed. I flinched at her words. FBI? Was it really that bad?
"Umm...Esme...your not gonna believe me but I'm somewhere in...Canada."
There was a pause of silence and I could imagine her mouth opening and closing like a goldfish.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN CANADA!!!!!!"
"I don't know how I got here, I um... woke up in a national park. I think it's called Jasper national park of Canada."
"Oh my God, sweetie, were you kidnapped!"
I quickly answered,
"N-No! At least, I don't think so." I muttered under my breath,
"Hey, can you please call Colton Volta and tell him where I am?" She snorted into the phone.
"Who the hell is Colton Volta?"
I suddenly remembered that she wasn't there when he was introduced.
"Uh, he's Mr. Volta's nephew." Looking at the pay machine, my eyes bulged out of my head looking at how expensive it was.
"Sorry, I'm gonna run out of money, bye!" I rushed out, slamming the phone down before paying the machine. Sighing, I sat down next to the pay phone, waiting to see if Colton would find me.
