Chapter 9

I woke up in a room of blue, with sunlight streaming through the curtains in front of me. Squinting, I rolled out of bed and checked the clock. It read 9:30am. I quickly ran to the ensuite so that I could get ready for the day.

Looking around the small room, I found a small pile of clothes on top of the bench. Winter must have placed it there while I was asleep. Closing and locking the blue door, I quickly took off my clothes and ran into the double-head shower. Turning the water on, I took my time washing every part of my body before moving on to my hair. As I finished, I quickly stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around me, drying myself completely. I quickly changed into my clothes and brushed my hair. Finding a blow drier underneath the sink, I quickly dried my hair and tied it up into a pony tail.

My outfit consisted of a navy blue dress with a white waist belt. I wore white ballet flats and a white cardigan to complete my outfit. Looking into the mirror, I agreed that I looked presentable, and I ran back outside into the main room.

Opening the curtains a small amount to let light into the room, I heard a growl come from my stomach. Suddenly feeling a pang of hunger, I ran out the room in search of the kitchens.

After many false doors and turns, I found myself in a large dining room connected to the kitchen that I had seen yesterday.  I walked in to find Sam and Joey sitting on the dining table, both looking half asleep. They were both still in their pyjamas, their heads on the table, their hair in all different directions from sleep.

Winter was in the kitchen cooking omelettes. She was wearing a white shirt that had a lace back with a flowing blue, flower printed maxi skirt.

"Good morning Winter." I said, entering the kitchen.

"Oh, hi Vi!" She said, turning around from the stove to look at my outfit.

"Hmm, I knew that would fit! Oh, why don't you sit down, there's a plate waiting on the counter top over there." Giving her a nod, I took the plate and walked back through the door and into the dining room, only to find that Joey was trying his best to lick Sam on the arm.

They immediately stopped their playful fighting as soon as they saw me.

"Morning Vi."  They said simultaneously before they started again. I would've laughed at this, but remembering what was going to happen today made me want to just curl up into a ball and cry.

'No more crying, Vi. You've cried enough tears for now.' I thought to myself. Instead, I replied to their greeting with a shaky smile. Sitting down, I found utensils on the table and started to eat.

Moments later, Colton came through the dining room doors, looking as gorgeous as ever. He was wearing a black, tight-fitted t-shirt that boasted his muscles. A pair of jeans hung loosely from his  waist, his hair looking like it always did, messy yet perfect.

We all greeted him and he quickly got his omelette before sitting down at the table, followed seconds later by Winter.

Colton took a seat in front of me and Winter took one on my right, wanting to get as far away as she could from the twins who were now smearing hollandaise sauce onto each other.

"Are you ready for today? We'll be going to the adoption centre at 10. Me and Winter will be going with you. You can choose the girl for your mother, if you want." I nodded at his words, not sure about what I would do if I opened my mouth. I had to keep it together.

"How long will I get with my mother?" I asked softly, looking down at my now empty plate.

"A few hours depending on how long the adoption goes, but we need you back here by four." He answered honestly.
