Chapter 24

Ava POV

I slammed the front door shut and ran out to my truck. I'm done with this, I'm done feeling like shit. I'm done with people; they just don't understand.

I turned the radio off and pulled up to the pharmacy.

It was about to close in a couple minutes, "Hey uh I need to pick up my medication- Avalon Costello" I quickly said to the woman behind the counter.

"Costello with two L's?"

"Yeah"

"Alright" she said going to the back.

I felt my breathing quicken, anxiety was building up in my throat. I felt dizzy but brushed it off.

The lady came back with my medication, "Here you go, take it twice a day"

"Thanks" I handed her the money and took the small paper bag, then walked to the pharmacys bathroom.

I felt broken, I think of my nonexistent family.

I can see CC's disappointed face.

I can feel the pain aching in my heart.

I tore the paper bag and broke open the bottle. I looked in the mirror and hated what I saw.

Dark circles had formed under my eyes. Tears stained my pale skin. I hate myself, so fucking much.

I hate the way I treat people, I hate the way people treat me. I hate suffering through this pain.

I emptied half the bottle into my palm and swallowed the pills dry.

I wiped off my tears with the back of my sleeve and walked out of the bathroom, then out of the pharmacy to my truck.

I don't know where I'm going, everything started to blur and become bright as I pulled onto the highway.

The last thing I heard was the semi truck horn blowing and feeling like the world was spinning. Then just pain, lots and lots of pain.

CC POV

I groggily began to wake up as I heard my phone ring.

I didn't recognize the number.

"Hello is this Coraline?"

"Yes" I said beginning to wake up.

"Are you related or in relations to Avalon Costello?"

I sat up now, wide awake, "Yeah, why?"

"We have her going into surgery in a couple hours and your phone number was on the emergency contacts according to the police"

"Oh my god is she okay, I'll be on my way" I said getting out of bed and frantically searching for my shoes and glasses.

"We'll inform you once you arrive, don't rush." "See you soon Coraline, goodbye" The line went dead and the call ended.

"Oh I'm rushing bitch" I said turning on the light as I moved all my clothes, looking for a coat "UGH WHERE DA FAUQ"

"CC?" Luke asked, still half asleep

"Where are my shoes" I mumbled looking around

"In the closet, wait- what the fuck" "Where are you going"

I ran into the closet grabbing my shoes and came back out, "Ugh, the hospital called me and told me Ava's going to go into surgery"

"What the hell happened?"
