Hallie looked over at Vanerro who had sneaked into her bed overnight. Hallie smiled. "I left you a perfectly good pallet on the couch." Hallie said to Vanerro who was sleeping soundly. Hallie got out of bed and got ready for school without waking up a snoring Vanerro. She was on her way out the door when Rhonda stopped her. "Hallie?" "Yes?" Hallie answered nervously. "You'd better be lucky I'm too old for prison." Hallie's heartbeat sped up with each passing minute. Hallie swallowed a gulp of air. "You'd better be home on time. You will be locked out for the night if you aren't in at this house by 3:45 sharp. Think I'm playing if you want to." Rhonda warned. "Yes ma'am." Hallie said nervously while leaving the house and heading for the bus stop. Renendez saw her and walked her direction. "Hey Hallie, how'd yesterday go with temper tantrum?" Renendez asked while laughing. "It was great we just hung out and talked the rest of the evening." Hallie lied. After how horrible last night went for Vanerro, she couldn't tell him she'd gotten kicked out. Especially if she wasn't ready to tell him. "What'd you guys talk about?" Renendez asked kicking a few rocks out his path. "About how you snitched me out to her about Amara you ass." Hallie said crossing her arms. "Hey she would have found out anyway." Renendez said defensively holding his hands up in the air. Hallie rolled her eyes. "He is looking mighty delicious right now." Hallie thought while biting her lip. "Wait...no shut up. I like Vanerro. I think. Shit what the fuck is going on with me?" Hallie thought fighting with herself. "Helloooo, Earth to Hallie?" Renendez asked gesturing to the yellow school bus pulling up. Hallie shook her thoughts away while walking towards the bus line. They were the last ones to get on the bus. When they finally got on Hallie saw there was only one empty space next to a boy sitting near the window. The rest of the seats were taken. Hallie sighed in frustration. "Looks like we sit there then. You'd have to sit on my lap." Renendez said raising his eyebrows and taking a seat next to the boy. Hallie hesitated. Everyone on the bus was looking at her impatiently, waiting for her to sit down. Renendez patted his lap for her to come sit. "Come on toots we have a schedule. Take a seat or get left." The bus driver informed nastily. Hallie made her way to the seat and slowly sat down on Renendez's lap. "Don't worry I'll keep it down." Renendez teased. Hallie laughed nervously as she lowered herself onto him. 10 minutes later the bus made it to the school. The bus hits a speed bump causing all the kids to bounce. Hallie instantly felt him grow hard against her as she was able to fix herself after the speed bump. Hallie shivered and when the bus came to a complete stop, she got up. "I'm sorry." Renendez said feeling embarrassed. "Yeah." Hallie said quickly getting off the bus and heading toward her locker. Hallie puts her bag in and notices Amara and a group of girls and boys heading her way. "I'd like to apologize for my behavior the other day. I didn't mean what I said." Amara explained while pushing her hair behind her shoulders. "Oh?" Hallie said surprised while shutting her locker. "So word on the street is your birthday is coming up?" Amara asked pouting her full lips. "Yeah next week. Why?" Hallie asked with a little confusion in her voice. "What do you think about a masquerade pool party at my parents' villa?" Amara asked. "Mari throws one every year and it's like so sick." A blonde haired girl said in the group. "Yeah, so sick." The blonde haired girl's twin said enthusiastically. "Kerinda and Kadie let me persuade her to come. She's my friend, not yours." Amara said to them. "A masquerade party? A villa? All for me?" Hallie thought to herself. "I'm so in." Hallie exclaimed. Amara held up her index finger. "Number 1 rule." Amara said with a straight face. Hallie payed attention. "Masks.Stay.On.During.The.Whole.Party." Amara said smiling at Hallie. Hallie laughed. "See you later. Deets on the party to be continued." Amara said walking away, her group following behind her. Hallie turned around to see Renendez walking toward her. He put his hand behind his head before speaking. "Hey Hallie, I uh... I just wanted to say..." "Shhh. It's okay. Just walk me to class loser." Hallie said smiling. Renendez put an arm around Hallie playfully and Hallie grabbed it. "Vanerro's going to be back soon and basketball tryouts will be right around the corner. You think you could teach me some things before 3:45?" "You're really going through with basketball?" Renendez asked surprised while laughing. "Yes I am actually you jackass." Hallie said defensively. "We both know what I was really doing though." Renendez said while smirking at her. Hallie blushed and kept quiet. "Nah lemme stop trying to sound like Vanerro." Renendez said laughing. "For you to even have a fair shot at making the team with your little experience in basketball we'd have to skip 5th period goody-goody." Renendez said. "Shit I'm down." Hallie said on her way to class.
....
5th period came and Hallie knew what time it was. She went to the girl's locker room and changed into a P.E. uniform. She walked into the gym's entrance and it was completely empty, Hallie looked around and there was no one in sight. "Ren?" Hallie called. No one answered. Hallie then felt hands on her waist. The hands picked her up and twirled her around. "Ren put me down now." Hallie exclaimed while laughing and holding onto him. Renendez put her down and Hallie tried to hit him but he dodged it. "So asshole where do we start?" Hallie asked with her hands on her hips. Renendez grabbed the nearest basketball and chest passed it to Hallie, who got scared of the ball and moved out the way."Really?" Renendez said shaking his head and laughing. Hallie ran for the ball and threw it back at him. " Shut up and let me see you shoot." Hallie said pouting. Renendez made a 3 pointer from where he was standing. "I don't know what you can do but let's see your technique." Renendez said chest passing the ball to her again. Hallie finally caught the ball. She threw the ball as hard as she could to the net. It bounced off the rim and hit her in the head. "Ow! Well shit." Hallie said dropping to the floor and holding her head while laughing. Renendez ran to her and sat down next to her. "Welp, that was quite some shot there!" Renendez said laughing. He stopped and looked at her. Hallie looked back at him and immediately tried to stand up. But she felt dizzy. "Easy there, easy." Renendez said catching Hallie in his arms after she fell. Hallie held onto his big muscular arms and looked into his eyes. He leaned in, and she kissed him. He placed his hands on her lower back and kissed her passionately. "Hallie pull away pull away! But I can't." Hallie thought to herself. He pulled away and smiled. "Wow. What was that?" Renendez asked while smiling. "A kiss duh." Hallie said trying to hide her guilt. "Let's do it again?" Renendez asked leaning closer to her. Hallie kissed him again. And again. And again. And again. "What the fuck did I just get myself into?" Hallie thought to herself worriedly while kissing him.
