My eyes narrowed in curiosity, wondering why Brandon was giving off a strong emotion other than sickening joy for once. He had a forced smile and he stiffly retracted his hand from my shoulder.

"Nina."

I gave him a concerned look, something was wrong. "Y-yeah?"

"Willow told me everything."

Now, I could have taken this many ways. For instance, throw up all over the most popular boy in school because my stomach decided gymnastics was the best way to react. Another one was burst into tears and spill my heart to the idiot. Instead, I pushed him and started yelling, because I was an unstable emotional wreck at the moment.

"You made her didn't you!? Poking your piggy nose everywhere! Willow would never tell a soul a secret of mine unless she was threatened! I can't tolerate your stupid face anymore! I'm done with your complex personality! I-"

He could have slapped me to stop my rants. He could have. He should have. Brandon made everything more complex-like his personality-the moment he leaned over and pressed his lips onto mine.

I froze and widened my eyes as Brandon gave me a sheepish laugh and flustered look. Don't get me wrong, I was mad, livid even, but I couldn't control the warmth that crossed my cheeks. Brandon stepped back and opened his mouth to speak but he was cut off by a scream of outrage.

We turned at the same time as June screamed, she looked horrified and had tears threatening to fall from her eyes. "N-N-Nina! He-! You shouldn't-! He's b-b-been-"

Brandon stiffened and glared fiercely at June making her close her mouth and cover it with her hands. A muffled wail escaped, and she backed away, June looked like she'd just witnessed murder.

My brain, still a little fuzzy with confused emotional thoughts, couldn't comprehend her completely out-of-character actions. Brandon relaxed when June was finally out of sight, he turned to me a slightly dazed look in his eyes.

"Forget that Nina...I acted without thinking." Brandon leaned close again, my brain freaked and the warmth on my cheeks came back, our noses touched as he stared into my eyes a serious expression crossed his visage.

"You...don't mind. Not at all."

A slight wave of fear made me nod ever so slightly, but it didn't even sound like he was questioning me. My throat was dry and I couldn't make a word, I gave Brandon a worried look. I was so confused, too many events happening at once.

However, Brandon didn't notice the look I gave him and he just looked away and then smiled. "You know Nina...I guess an explanation in due." Suddenly, he turned back to me, his smile growing and a uncomfortable gleam in his eyes made me flinch.

I attempted to speak but Brandon pushed his pointer finger against my lips to hush me, not that I could have uttered a word anyway.

"Nina. Since the moment I saw you at the bus stop, running into that sign."

What. He had been there!? I internally gave a cry of anguish, remembering the moment.

"There was something about you...I needed to know more about you and...I decided t-" Brandon cut himself off, alarmed at something. He backed away from me, looking really nervous and also ashamed.

As charming as his potential confession was-sarcasm right there-I roughly cleared my throat, wincing at the sting. "B-Brandon...I don't know wh-what has gotten into y-you bu-"

"Nina! I'm sorry for what I've done! B-but I couldn't help it! I had to!" Brandon fell to his knees and clutched his head.

"Wh-what!? What are y-"

Brandon cried out and then paused and there was a silence between us until he slowly got up and smiled at me. "We've got class to get too, see you later~!" He cheerily waved and walked off.

I let out a giant breath. What the heck had I just witnessed!? I walked back till I hit the wall, and slid down to the floor, my legs shaking a bit. Brandon...something was wrong with him. Something was wrong with June. Something was wrong with everyone I know! Since moving here my life has turned into a some sort of novel!

"Hey, you...okay?"

Weakly I looked up, seeing someone I hadn't seen before. She gave me a smile and offered a hand, a gleam of concern in her eyes. I accepted her hand and allowed her to tug me back onto me feet.

"Tilly Scott, you?" Tilly steadied me and scratched her freckled cheek.

"N-Nina! Nina Foster." I decided a grateful smile was deserved, "Thank you Tilly."
