I was reluctant to read what the stranger had texted me, well, more like terrified. I decided to ignore the messages and block the number. After doing that and getting ready for the day I stumbled sleepily down the stairs.

"Good morning Nina~" My mom gave me a quick hug and patted my forehead. "You want some waffles? I made too much for my tiny stomach."

I rolled my eyes. My mom was the equivalent to a never ending pit, she just said that to be funny.

"Sure mom." I sit down and start stuffing myself.

"We didn't get much time to talk about yesterday, anything happen?"

I frowned, I could tell her about the creepy messages...

"I met this nice girl June, and her twin brother Julian." I cleared my throat, hoping my mom wouldn't point out the accidental emphases on 'nice'.

"Oh I like those names! June and Julian! Maybe I should've named you after a month...or how about a season!?" My mom's eyes sparkled as she listed off ridiculous names.

"I'm fine with Nina." I chuckled and went to clean my dishes.

"Is that Julian cute? Are you gonna get married to him? I want grandchildren! Wait! That makes me sound old! Never mind! Never have kids!"

I turned to my mom exasperated. "Mom!"

She shrugged and smiled cheekily. "So~ Is he?"

    "No!"

"What's he like? Maybe I can hook him up with your cousin Willow!" Mom giggled giddily and pulled out her phone, then looked up at me anxiously.

"He doesn't talk. Like at all." I mentally laughed, June had said the exact thing to me when she introduced him.

    "So...he's shy?"

"No mom! He doesn't make sounds with his mouth! There is no words coming from his mouth! Ever!"

My mom looked concerned, "Do you know why? Has he, like, ta-"

"Mom he can't talk so how would I know!?" I put my dishes in the dishwasher and put my hands on my hips.

"His twin could tell you right?" My mom frowned with worry. "Is Julian doing okay in school?"

"Mom-" I stopped and rubbed my temples with frustration. "Mom, I need to get ready for school."

    "But I'm worried."

"But I need to go to school."

    "Bu-"

    "Mom!"

    "Fine..."

I sighed and walked back to my room to grab my backpack and a jacket. I swear it's like I'm her mom sometimes.

My mood had made a rapid decline, the only thing that was motivating me to leave my house-let alone my room-was the sticky note reply. I glanced at my phones time and started to leave, after putting on some shoes.

As I reached for the door knob, my mom shouted to me.

"Make sure you get along with Julian! I want you or Willow as his bride!"

I flushed and slammed the door, hopefully making it clear that I was more than done with her. I waked down the sidewalk to my bus stop and my thoughts started to wander. I wonder who the creeper was last night? Maybe it was a mass murderer! Or the government! Perhaps-

My wild thoughts came to a halt as I crashed into something and fell to the floor. I groaned and clutched my forehead, then opened my eyes to see who I'd run into. I didn't run into a person.

    I ran into a sign.

People at my stop were giggling, snickering, chuckling, and every other form of laughing. My face probably could've passed as a tomato at that moment to be honest. I just sat on the cement before weakly laughing too and getting up, shakily. I was so unstable from embarrassment I was afraid I would just fall over. Luckily I managed to stay upright, life goals completed.

Though when I got on the bus and slid into an empty seat I heard people whispering about it. Great. Second day and the whole school will know me as: "The girl who ran into a sign" screw you sign, you ruined any chance of a good reputation I had!

With spirits low I watched outside go rushing by.

Our bus arrived at school, we got off, I went to my locker. Basically what would happen every morning to every student ever. Except they didn't have a strange girl named June, with her equally strange twin brother Julian, at their locker.

"Hello Nina~" She smiled, but I a tiny bit of hostility in her eyes, that made me uncomfortable.

"Y-yeah." I smiled weakly and nodded at Julian, showing him I acknowledged his being there.

"So anything going on?" June watched my every move, and I noticed when I pulled out my phone she twitched.

"N-nothing." I averted my eyes and pulled out my stuff for first period.

"Okay, if you say so." June shrugged and then grabbed my arm. "Homeroom will start soon, were going now."

"What?!" I yelp as June drags my away, I didn't even get to close my locker or grab my pencil case.

Julian noticed though and snagged my pencil case then closed my locker gently, then raced to catch up with me and June.

The we were about to walk in when Julian put a hand on my shoulder. Scaring me half to death. I turned around and frowned.

    "What is it?"

Julian pushed my pencil case into my hands with the smallest of smiles.

"Oh, thanks a bunch!" I grinned and whirled around to walk in, June stood by the doorway watching me closely.

A hand touched my shoulder again and I jumped. I spun around again and Julian stood there.

"Is something wrong?" I was starting to become worried.

Julian shook his head and hesitantly patted my head before turning and walking off. I blinked with confusion. What?  I then face palmed. Julian doesn't have homeroom with me! Duh! I chuckled and trudged into the room.

"Come on! Sit." June pulled me into my chair, making me quietly shriek with surprise.

Mrs. Hook got up from her awesome swivel chair and clapped to get everyone's attention.

"Alright everyone! So yesterday was Nina Foster's first day! Nina, how about you tell us about you're day!?"

I sat straighter and widened my eyes. Is this lady crazy?! She must have taught kindergarten before, because what the actual heck!? Why would a new student who's in high school want to talk about their first day!? This is crazy! HELP ME!

"Nina?" Mrs. Hook snapped me out of my thoughts, and I looked at her.

I gave her the most pleading look, attempting to mentally communicate with her. Then she said something that made me want to cry.

"Oh honey, did you have a bad first day?"

    WHY ME!?
