I tap my foot impatiently as my thumbs fiddled with each other frantically. Gray and Aaron left the room with band aids and cloth wraps covering most their body. I jumped to my feet and walk in their direction Olivia had been the last one to leave the room, I direction Gray and Aaron to head for the car and made my way towards Liv.
"W-what um.. what happened to them? Did they say?" I whisper lightly trying not to cause attention in the quiet pharmacy. She shook her head.

"They wouldn't say, mostly because their mouths were full of blood." She laughed, "but they kept quiet." She rubbed my shoulder and walked behind the register. I exhaled with anger and went to the car. There they were waiting for me in the back seat. I stomp my way to the car and yell through the window, "Yo what the hell guys? What happened to you guys?" My breath fogged the window Grayson looked down and so did Aaron. For some reason they couldn't face me. I roll my eyes and got in the drivers seat.

I start the car and began driving as if I knew where I was going to go. I finally concluded that I'll drop them at Junos. It was quiet most the way there until Aaron couldn't stand it anymore. "...it was Jake and his friends. They-they did this." He groans. I unfrown my eyebrows and luck my lips to begin and speak. "What happened? Why did he do it?" I ask constantly staring from the road into the rear view mirror for reaction. Aaron looked at Grayson who finally lifted his head and looked at me, "he-" Grayson begins but then pauses. "Jake.. he just- he just came out of a diner and saw us and told his boys to come and attack us and then tells us that if we don't want pain like this again we should join him again.. join him with the drug selling." Grayson struggled to talk, I could hear the pain in his last words. I tell him to shhh and he throws his head back in pain.

On the way to Junos my worry turned to anger, Jake was an asshole. I pull up and help Grayson and Aaron out the car and into their rooms. I guided Aaron to his bed slow enough for him to go along with me. Same with Grayson, I lay my hand on the back of his head and lay him down slow when I removed my hand from beneath him and when I tried to tip toe out he grabbed my arm and groaned. "T, i-I wanna thank you for taking care of me and Aaron. If I wasn't in so much pain I'd kiss you." He chuckles. My cheeks turn hot and a sudden urge of courage crept its way to my mouth and made me say something I would never say aloud, "Let me do it for you." I lean over and kiss his badly bruised lips. My heart began beating so fast I don't know what came over me but I'm happy it did.

He grins and slowly closes his eyes. I creep towards the door and exit quietly. What were we after that kiss? This question kept nagging at me like a gnat In the spring. I don't know if I was being delusional but I didn't care either. My thigh began to vibrate as my phone rang loudly. It was Lani. Shit.
I answer to shouts and screams and hollers. It really didn't bother me, I was the happiest I could be. But the back of my head still had a temper with Jake. I hop in the car and drive to get Lani. I slowly drive toward the diner where she stood with her arms crossed and eyebrows frowned. She stomped her feet to the passenger door, "Taya what the fuck? I've been waiting for hours WHY DID YOU TAKE MY CAR? The guy I was with ended up being gay and so it was awkward but I couldn't leave because you wanted to take my fucking car!" She grunts. I try to hold in my laughter. Karma is a bitch. She cools down and shakes her head. "This wasn't what I had in mine for our girls day but whatever, pull over so I can drop you off and go home." We switch seats and make our way home and as we pass Dragon Cafè there was Jake, there and vulnerable all by himself.
