I laugh nervously and Lani notices and speaks up curiously, "uhm... hi I don't really know who you are or who Grayson is but I do know that it's me and my sisters time today so can you please go." She takes another sip of her drink. Jake looks at her and scoffs. Minutes later he finally left but as he left he turned to me and announces, "if I were you I wouldn't get too attached."
I stare at the floor. Lani watches him leave then looks back at me.
"Tay what the hell?" She asked furious. I begin to explain but Eli comes back to take our order. Lani adjusts her chest as he walks over. I glare at her inner hoe.
"Figured out what you want?" He asks clicking his pen.
"Yes. I. Have." Lani says slow looking him up and down. They both laugh and I could see him get red. I gag. I interrupt the moment and order. "Um yes, can I get the grilled cheese delight with a side of fries." I close my menu and hand it to him. Lani twirls her hair and orders, "I'll just have the Ceaser Salad with a side of fruit please, I'm trying to watch my... figure." She says touching her body seductively. He smiles nervous. "Coming right up." He says. I lay my head on my hand and stare at her in disgust.

"Okay, sooooo tell me what that whole 'Grayson drug and jake' thingy going on." She asks sipping her drink once more. While we waited for our food I start from the day we went to the police station and saw him there. I didn't miss a detail, I could tell I got her attention. The finally food arrives 30 minutes later. "- and then Grayson took me home and dad snapped on me but then you showed up and here we are." I finish up as I enter a fry in the ketchup.
Lani was in awe. I could tell she had a whole bunch of questions running through her small mind. "So you tried to kill yourself, but the boy whose brother drugged you, saved you only for you to find out he was a druggie but you feel like he likes you and now this Jake guy comes in and makes you question everything Grayson told you?" Lani questions. I nod at her while finishing up my grilled cheese. She puts her hands to her head. "That's really fucked up Tay." She laughs. I chuckle along with her. "I know" I mouthed at her.

still giggling I peeped out the window to see Aaron holding his nose as if he were keeping something from oozing out, I look closer to see he was holding in blood. I gasp and make my way out the door but Lani grabs my arm and yanks me back. I grunt and explain to her, "My friends out there and he is hurting I gotta go see what's wrong." I grab her hand and unwrapped it from my arm.  She scoffs. "This. Is. OUR day T. You can't just leave during the middle of it I'm trying t-" she suddenly stops as she sees Eli walking back towards us, she once against adjust her chest and changes her choice. "You know what? Go ahead and go."
I would be pissed at her but I was too focused on Aaron as I walked out the door I saw another bloody like figure follow him, he had also been beaten once he turned I saw. Grayson. I ran across the street to meet the two badly beaten boys, Grayson had his arm around Aaron for support he was obviously beaten the most and it broke my heart. I finally caught up and breathily I say, "Grayson! What- what happened to you guys?" I touch the dark bruise that lay under his eyes. Aaron's shirt had dried blood on it which made me uneasy. "We- we were..." Aaron grunted trying to hold the pain to speak, I stop him from causing anymore strain.

I look at Grayson who was closing his eyes tight holding in screams he wanted to let out. "We need to get you some help.." I hesitate looking around. I look through the window and see Lani and Eli talking. I bit my lip and told them to follow me. They did as they were told and waited by Lanis car, I went back into the diner and snuck Lanis keys out of her purse, I tried hard not to make them jingle and have her notice me. I ran out and told the boys to get in I knew Lani would kill me if they had gotten blood on her seats. They get it and buckle up and I drive to the nearest pharmacy. On the way we got stuck in traffic I tapped the steering wheel with impatience I check my rear view mirror and look at them holding on their wounds.

Grayson suddenly looked back up at me and mouthed I'm so sorry.
I was confused sorry about what? Before I could ask the car behind honked at me signaling traffic was speeding up, I continue driving until we finally arrive. We rush inside to see Olivia the free medical nurse, she was a friend of my moms. I told her the situation and she took Gray and Aaron to the back room.
