"Mikey, what do you have to show me?" Luke whined.

"You'll see when we get upstairs," Michael told him. Luke and Michael both walked up the stairs into Luke's room and Michael sat him down on the bed, grabbing Luke's guitar from the corner of his room and holding it.

"Um, well, it might sound lame, but I wrote a song...." Michael said, fiddling with his sleeves. Luke sat up, his eyes brightening.

"Oh my gosh, really? Can I hear it?" Luke said, excitement obvious in his voice.

"Of course, that's what I wanted to show you," Michael chuckled. Luke blushed and a silence came over them. Luke was just waiting for Michael to be ready to play the song, and when he played it, Luke was in shock.

"Don't talk, let me think it over
How we gonna fix this?
How we gonna undo all the pain?" Michael sang, staring directly at Luke.

Luke couldn't believe it. He had heard Michael sing before, but never had he heard him sing to him. It was beautiful, and Luke swore that with every single note Michael was singing, his crush grew a little bit more.

"All the crossed wires, just making us tired.
Is it too late to bring us back to life?" Michael sat down on the bed next to Luke, still strumming to the song he had created.

"When I close my eyes and try to sleep
I fall apart, I find it hard to breathe
You're the reason, the only reason," Michael sang out, looking up at Luke and then darting his eyes back to the guitar.

Luke's eyes started watering because of how emotional the song made Luke. He connected to it, because through everything he had going on with his best friend and himself, Michael was still the reason he would get through it all, the literal only reason that Luke was still going, even if they'd met each other just a few weeks ago.

"Even though my dizzy head is numb,
I swear my heart is never giving up
You're the reason, the only reason," he sang. Soon, Michael finished the song and set his guitar down, but Luke was too in shock to know what to say next.

"W-wow, I- oh my god. Mikey... that was incredible," Luke complimented. Michael grinned and thanked him, pulling Luke into a close hug.

"You liked it?" Michael asked, pulling away.

"I loved it," Luke said, "um, was it about anyone in particular?"

Michaels eyes widened and he quickly shook his head, praying Luke didn't realize that it was about him.

"No! No... um, well, yeah actually," Michael said, looking away from Luke.

"Oh really? Who?" Luke asked, raising his eyebrows. There was a glimmer of hope in his eye, but it left automatically after Michael answered him.

"Uh- Ashton?" Michael lied, almost like a question.

"W-what? Ashton?" Luke asked, not believing what he just heard.

"Um... yeah. Yep. I wrote that song about Ashton," Michael said, scratching the back of his head.

"Oh. That makes more sense," Luke sighed. He stood up and looked around his room, wishing that he were at somebody else's house so he could go home and be alone.
