Time Bomb! (Keith x Reader!)

Chapter 2

Keith's POV

A sharp jolt brought me back to my senses. My body lay exhausted against the cold hard metal of what seemed to be the mouth of a lion, Lance's Lion.

"Don't worry, I've got you Mullet!" Lance exclaimed with an obvious smirk.

I smiled slightly to myself as I breathed a huge sigh of relief.
"Cutting it a bit fine aren't we though"

"Shut it Mullet and let's just get going" an irritated Lance replied.

We landed on top of the cliff outside the castle doors. Lance opened Blue's mouth and rolled me out not so gently. I glared up at him as he strolled out with Pidge. I rose up and ran inside to the infirmary. (Y/N) was already in there inside a healing pod. Shiro was sitting on the steps whilst Allura and Coran tampered with the pod settings. (Y/N) was fidgeting inside the pod, like she was having a nightmare.

"What's wrong with her?" I questioned.

"Sometimes the healing process can cause unnecessary brain waves to be activated, simulating the patients deepest and darkest fears or memories." Allura stated

"So... It's like a constant bad dream." A worried Hunk replied. "That's horrible!"

I shifted my eyes towards Shiro who was perched on the steps, eyes forward, thinking, focusing on something distant. I quietly wondered over to him and placed a hand on his broad shoulder, flinching slightly under my touch.

"She's gonna be okay Shiro, she's a fighter" I reassured him.

He chuckled lightly, the corners of his mouth twitching into a small smile.
"You're right Keith, she always was stubborn"

"So, What was (y/n) like at the garrison then? I remember being so jealous when she got excepted. She used to spend the whole evening talking about her classes, teaching me every single fragment of information she learned until no more could be processed because it was late at night. However after a while she stopped talking and studied by herself; she completely shut me off..." I trailed off as I remembered our time at the orphanage.

Flashback

"(Y/N) can you repeat that please? I don't get it." Rubbing my eyes due to lack of sleep.

She sighed loudly. "Okay Keith we will revisit it tomorrow. You need sleep, we've been learning about astro-physics for 7 hours. Come here."

She wrapped me tightly in her arms and picked me up as she crept downstairs from her room in the attic to mine on the second floor. Placing me in my bed, she kissed my forehead.
"I love you Keith."

"I love you too (y/n)"

A few years later

"Hey can you teach me a super cool lesson today please!" I ran up to her clutching my new notepad.

"No Keith, I can't today. I have... Um... Some assignments to finish."

"I can help you then, please (y/n), it is my 16th birthday today..."

A heavy sigh was released.
"Keith I already told you this a million times now. I'm 21, I have exams and other, bigger things to worry about now. JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"

I stood there shocked, eyes as wide as an intergalactic star, tears welled in my eyes as I slowly backed away from (y/n), her hand raised ready to slap me with matching wide eyes full of anger, sadness and regret.

"This is the worst birthday ever" I screamed and ran back to my room, slamming her door behind me.
