Chapter 3

Your POV

Darkness...

All I could see was darkness and figure with a purple glow.

The room spun and swayed as they approached me. My face was pressed against a cold, hard, metallic floor as a heavy black boot pushed down on my face. I winched in pain at the pressure that was applied.

"Ha pathetic" A deep voice scoffed. "Who would think that the illegitimate second heir to the Galra Empire would be a pathetic human like you?"

I sharply glared at him before my head was forced back to the floor.

"I suppose you're not really classed as human now though. Not after what we did to you."

A metal disk was placed on my temple before flashbacks of my time in prison appeared. The torture, the fights, the experiments... The results... The pain. All of it came flooding back in an instant before a low chuckle was heard. It was the same mystery figure now walking away, leaving me behind to suffer.

Keith's POV

I was startled awake by a loud scream echoing down the hallways of the castle. I sprang up and went to investigate, Bayard in hand. The heart wrenching screams were coming from my room where (y/n) was staying.

As I approached the door from the right, Shiro came running in from the left. I glared slightly at him. Whenever I was with her or talked about her, even though she's only been here a few days, I would find him there. Our leader would always butt in and find away to steal the limelight of being with (y/n) away. She was mine, I grew up with her!

We both entered immediately to find a small fragile girl curled up in the corner of her room upon her bed. Her (h/l)  (h/c) hair hung just in front of her tear stained face, sticking to the sweat on her head like glue. She rocked back and forth, shaking her head and muttered little things to herself. Shiro ran over and placed a hand on her shoulder to reassure (y/n) but she swatted him away in an instant.

"DONT TOUCH ME!" She screamed. "Don't touch me" she said a little quieter.

He retreated back to my side and looked at me.

"What should we do?" He asked.

I pondered for a moment.
"I've got it!" I exclaimed and slowly began making my way towards the frail flower.

"Hush now my baby
Hush now my love
The angels are watching
From heaven above"

I sang quietly as I edged my way closer to her shaking figure.

"They know that I love you
They know that it's true
I'll stay here beside you
Whatever you do"

Her (e/c) glistened with tears as she slowly looked up at me.

"When I wake beside you
I feel like I shine
I wish you forever
And ever be mine"

Her body relaxed as my arms began to wrap around her shoulders.

"A new day tomorrow
When you open your eyes
You let in the sunshine
And all darkness dies"

Her arms wrapped around my torso as she sobbed into my shoulder. I caressed her head, smoothing my hands through her silky (h/c) hair.

"Sshhh it's okay. Everything is alright now. I'm here (y/n)."

After that she just sobbed harder. I always knew that she was afraid of the dark slightly and I was as well. I used to slip into her bed when we were young and we comforted each other until the morning sun rose. Each time (y/n) would sing that sweet lullaby to calm us both down.
