POV~~ AllisonI walk into the lunchroom and sit at the table with the least amount of people not wanting to make any relationships with anyone except Rick: only because he has to drive me back and forth to school every day no other reason. Making friends is not important to me right now basically it is just gonna be me and my school work for a while; maybe for the rest of my life.
"Hey, I'm Tori what's your name?" Ugh great.
"It's Allison but I need to get going to class, see you around!" I say as I pick up my stuff and try to leave.
"But lunch just started."
"I know, but guess what? I just want to be alone right now I'm having a bad day so goodbye." the girl looked like she was about to cry but I don't care it's all about me, myself, and I.
"Hey Ally what's up!" the second I hear his voice I smile, why did I smile? I don't know why but I did. But I kept walking knowing that I shouldn't get close to anyone; especially him.
I walk right out of the school and head for the closest Starbucks, needing a pick me up so I could get through the rest of this day. I walk in and get on the line, then look at my phone to check the time, 11:00, I have 20 minutes to get back to school. When I get to the front I order a cappuccino; my favorite drink. Then head to a booth to relax and read my book, it's my safe place, the only place I feel like my problems can't get to me. When I read it feels like I'm in an alternate universe were anything can happen and the characters always have their happily ever after.
The next time I look at my phone to see the time I realize that it is 11:15. Oh, shoot I'm gonna be late! I run out of the Starbucks and head to the school hoping I won't get in trouble. By the time I get to school, I realize that lunch actually ends at 11:30, not 11:20. I'm so stupid! It's 11:20 now so I have 10 minutes before class.
"There you are I've been looking for you!" My goodness, he won't leave me alone!
"Hey, Rick, what's up."
"Nothing, I was just wondering if you wanted to go to my football game on Friday; I could use your luck."
Ughh whyyy Fridays are supposed to be fun, football games are not fun especially if you don't know what's going on. Thinking of an excuse on why I can't come was difficult but I did it.
"Oh shoot, I can't come I have studying to do; a lot of it see you later bye!"
I walk off to my next class before Rick had a chance to say anything else.
POV~~ Jenny
As I walk into the bathroom to re-apply my lipstick I see Allison leaning on the stalls of the bathroom; drinking her Starbucks and looking at her phone. Ugh, why did she get Starbucks!? that little brat probably asked her mom for it.
I walk over to the mirror to reapply when I see her look up at me her eyes get wide and she tries to leave.
"Wait a second Allison!" I say as I just finish my makeup.
"What the hell do you want?"She says
"So, I heard you got invited to Rick's football game but you stood him up."
"Yeah, so what? And I didn't stand him up, it wasn't a date."
"Yes it was, but that doesn't matter. He's mine so stay away from him you pheasant." She then walks out of the bathroom dumbfounded by my comment.
POV~~ Allison
After that comment, I didn't even care about school anymore because this is only my first day and it already sucks. Everywhere people are talking: in the halls around me or walking to class, and I have no one.
No shoulder to cry on, no one to laugh with, and no one to share my feelings with.
But I don't care; after what my Aunt did to me back in Florida I can't trust anyone else except me or my mom. I trusted my Aunt with everything and she repays me by sneaking around with my father.
All people are rotten liars, that like to hurt people like me.
I then walk into my next class with my head high.
2:30; my favorite time of the day, school is finally out and I can't wait to get home. I walk over to Rick's car hoping he'll get here soon.
"You ready to go?" He says from behind me, making me jump.
"Jeez, you scared me," I say annoyed. He then chuckles at my comment and opens the passenger side door for me.
"Oh, by the way, a girl named Tori wanted me to give you her number so here it is." He then hands me a slip of paper with Tori's number on it; I then put the contact in my phone reluctantly.
"You should talk to her, Allison. I can tell you are going through a lot right now. I don't know what happened back in Florida but I can tell something bad happened that made you put up these walls." This boy basically read my mind, I could tell he cares about me a lot but why would he care about me? We literally met this morning.
"Ok fine I'll call her later." I sigh
"Good, I'm happy for you Ally." He says as we pull out of the space.
10 minutes later we pull up to the apartment building. He lets me out and I say goodbye to him, he waves back then leaves.
I first do my homework then I decide to call Tori. It rings twice before she answers.
"Hello?"
"Hey this is Allison, I want to apologize for being rude to you at lunch today," I say actually meaning it.
"Oh! Hey I didn't think you would actually call! And no problem I'm over it."
"Ok cool, you wanna come over to my place for a bit?"
"Yeah sure where do you live?"
