POV~ Allison

Time jump: one week

My Father is going to jail for eighteen months for assault. My father is a horrible man, even though I'm still a little shaken up about the whole experience I hate that he hurt Rick. He is a carpenter and wears his work boots all the time. He had them on when he kicked Rick. My father requested to talk to me a few times but I declined. I have no desire to talk to him after what he did. 

My mother has been very quiet these past few days. I heard her crying in her room the night of the incident, it hurt my heart. She also took this week off from work to relax and made me not go to school for a week.

I'm going to see Tori today, the first time after the incident. I can't wait to see her it's been so long. We are going to see a movie then get lunch after. I grab my purse and head to Tori's apartment. 

"Hey, Ally! How are you doing?" She says as she wraps me in a hug.

"As good as I can... when did life get so complicated?" I sigh

Tori frowns "Hey it's okay. You ready to see Kidnap?"

"Yeah, let's go so we can get snacks before."

As we walk up to the concession stand Tori pulls me aside.

"Hot guy working the concession stand. What do I do?" she nods her head towards the boy.

"Talk to him. Don't let me get in the way. I'll get food then head to the theater. I'll save us some seats." I start walking up to the stand.

"Wait!" I turn around " Stay with me while I do this, I'm nervous." she pleads.

I playfully roll my eyes "Fine I'll be your wing girl." She laughs at my comment.

We walk up to the boy as I get closer to the counter filled with candy and popcorn my stomach grumbles from the scent of popcorn.

The boy was pretty cute. On his name tag, it read Noah. He had light brown hair and black eyes. He looked about our age.

Tori leans on the counter and nervously bites her lip. She looks at me and I nod back at her. Then he turns around and asks us what we want.

"I'll have cookie dough bites and popcorn for my friend," Tori says.

He smiles at Tori. "Those are my favorite. What movie are you two seeing today?"

"Kidnapped."

"Oh you girls will love it, it's great." He looks at the clock on the wall.

"The movie is not starting yet and my break is about to start. Wanna hang for a bit?" He says to Tori.

Tori looks at me. "Sorry I can't, don't want to ditch my best friend. But here's my number, call me." She flashes a smile as she hands him a slip of paper with her number on it.

He nods "Totally understand. Expect a call then." He winks as he hands us our food.

"Bye Noah." Tori flirtatiously waves as we walk away.

"Great job girl," I exclaim as I nudge her side. 

"Why, thank you."

After the movie, we decide to just go to Starbucks instead of going to eat since we were stuffed from all the food we ate in the theater. Tori and I both got iced coffees and sat in a booth.

"So how is Rick feeling?" 

"He is better." I frown as the memories flood back.

Tori realizes she hit a sore spot. "Sorry I didn't mean to remind you."

"No, no it's fine you didn't mean it. I just feel horrible that Rick got hurt because of me, you know?" 

"I understand where you are coming from but he did the right thing. How would you feel if he just sat back and watched?"

"You're right, he tried to protect me."

"Okay, let's just change the subject. What did you think of Noah?"

"I approve. He's pretty cute."

"I know, right!? His jawline was on point! He had some nice muscles too." She sighs thinking of him.

"He really liked you. I ship it!" She laughs.

After we finished our drinks we caught a cab to our apartment building. We said goodbye and went our separate ways.

I walk into the apartment to find my mom in the kitchen. 

"Hey, mom how are you feeling?" I say as I wrap her into a hug.

"I feel better honey. Did you have fun with Tori today?"

"Yeah, we had fun. Do you want to talk about anything?" I ask.

"I'm not ready to. But the police called again, he requested to talk to you again."

"You already know my answer." I rolled my eyes.

"But don't you want answers?" My mom mentions.

"I don't know mom. But I don't want to talk to him right now. He betrayed us then tried to take me from you!" 

"Honey he doesn't want to speak to anyone but you. He never asked me to come down." 

"You want me to talk to him for you? The man who put us through all this pain!?"

"I need answers, Allison! I can move on from him if I don't!"

My mother is about to cry. "I love him, Allison! The second he came back I knew I haven't stopped! The only way to get over him is closure!" She sinks to the floor and puts her head in her hands.

I walk over and sit next to her. "I'm sorry mom. Even though I don't want to I'll go talk to dad for you." She looks at me and smiles.

"Thank you! Thank you so much!" She wraps me into a hug.

"I love you so much mom," I say into her shoulder.

"I love you to Ally."
