POV~ Allison"Ok Ms.Weathers you can see your father now." The guard says as he points to the room down the hall.
I smile and nod my head before I start to make my way down the hall.Once I get to the door I take a deep breath. I'm about to see my father for the first time since that night. I'm nervous. I think about turning around and running out of this place, but I don't because I know that I need to do this for my mom.
I put my hand on the cold doorknob and turn it. The door opens and I see a rectangle-shaped table that my father is sitting at. He's looking down at his handcuffs until I clear my throat to get his attention. He looks up at me with a sad smile.
"Hey princess, sorry you have to see me like this." A chill runs up my spine when he calls me princess reminding me of the other night.
"Don't call me that ever again," I say through gritted teeth.
"Okay, okay. Sorry." He says surprised by my tone.
I slowly make my way over to the chair and sit down across from him and pull out the list of questions my mom gave me from my purse. His eyebrows raised in confusion. "What is that?"
"A list of questions mom wants me to ask you." He shakes his head
"I'm not gonna' answer them right now. I need to talk to you first."
I roll my eyes and fold the list back up. "Make it quick."
He takes a deep breath and nods. "I was here on business. I knew you two lived in New York but I didn't know you were in Queens."
"I saw your mother on the subway the other day and I saw her enter your apartment building. So the other night I was drunk and I got angry. So I stumbled to your apartment building and you know what happened after that." I nodded my head.
"I can't forgive you, do you know that?" He nods his head with a frown.
"When you get out of jail I want you to leave and head straight to Florida. I don't want you to call me or get in touch with me. The day you started an affair with my Aunt was the day you left me and mom forever. I have no respect for you." I take a breath and watch as his face falls from my last statement.
"Before you came here I was happy. I have a boyfriend who I love and a best friend who I trust. Mom was finally forgetting you and so was I." Tears start to well up in my eyes.
"You have a boyfriend?" He asks his eyebrow arching
"Yeah, you kicked him in the groin." He looks down at his hands, disappointed in himself.
"Oh yeah, I remember that. Please tell him I'm sorry." I nod my head.
"Anyway, how is school?" He asks
I look at my watch, ten minutes left.
"No, no small talk. Answer mom's questions. I heard you out, now it's time for you to answer mom."
He sighs. "Fine hand me the paper."
I hand him the paper and a pen. He takes both and starts to write down the answers to my mother's questions. I never read the questions myself, it's between my mom and my father. Not me.
After five minutes he finishes the questions and hands everything back to me. I stand up getting ready to leave. My father also got up, "Can I get a hug at least?" I frown, but I soon break and wrap him in a big embrace. This is the last time I will see him and I want it to end on a good note at least.
"I love you, Ally, I'm sorry for all the pain I caused." He whispers to me still in the hug.
I let him go and take one last look at my father and head for the door.
I walk out of the police station with closure. It feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
I feel free.
