-----Violet's P.O.V.-----
I stared down at my empty Starbucks cup miserably, tired and upset. I mean, Luke had cheered my up, and coffee was definatly what I had needed, but it didn't completly take the pain of loosing my boyfriend and best friend away. Nothing would. I drum my fingers on the table, which must have annoyed Luke, who sat across from me, because he reached over and took my hand in his, making me stop. He intertwined our fingers, causing me to look up at him.
"Luke?"
"Yeah?"
"Can we leave yet?" I ask. He shakes his head from side to side as a responce, sendng stray hairs out of place. I couldn't express how bad I wanted to run my fingers through his hair and put them back into place. We have been sitting at the same table in Starbucks fro nearly an hour and fifteen-minutes. I didn't know why Luke was keeping me here, he wouldn't tell me anything. All he told me was that he 'wanted to stay a little longer'. But I was tired, and now hungry considering it was nearing six pm. "But Luke, I'm hungry." I pout, willing to try anything to get out of here. As if on cue my stomach makes a rumbling sound to prove my hunger.
"Do you want to go get something?" Luke reaches for his wallet in his back pocket but I shake my head, pulling his hand back into mine.
"No, I want to go home. Please Luke? This is boring." Luke sighs, nodding finally.
"How about I make you a deal? We stay for fifteen more minutes, and after that I'll order some pizza and we can go back to my place." I move my head back and forth, as if weighing the idea in my mind.
"Alright Hemmings, you've got yourself a deal." I giggle, and he squeezes my hand once, letting a smile slip onto his face. I love that smile of his, even though he never seemed to smile often. Before the dance I didn't think I ever saw Luke smile. But the more time I spent around the boy, the more the cute, contagious, dimple making smile came about. I smile back at him.
"So, um, since were ordering pizza and going to my house...do you think this would count as a...uh..dat-" My phone was ringing, so he stopped talking and I groaned. It was probably my ex best friend/boyfriend calling, and I really wasn't in the mood to talk to them. Espessially because Luke had actually really cheered me up, and they were just going to put me down again. I look down at my phone sitting on the table next to my empty cup and check the caller ID. To my surprise it's neither of the people I had thought it would be.
"Hey, what's up?" I greet my brother.
"Nothing much, how about you? Where are you anyway?" Niall's deep accent nearly matched mine, but it was a little different. Deeper of a voice obviously.
"Out." I say, nochalantly.
"Well, dad's ordering out. Are you going to be home for dinner?" I shake my head, but after realzing he couldn't see me, I speak.
"No, I'm eating at me friends house."
"Friend? You mean the bad-ass you've been hanging around lately? What's with him anyway? Does he ever smile? And are you guys dating or what?" I rolled my eyes, assuming by 'bad-ass' he meant Luke.
"I don't want to talk about it. And don't talk that way about him. He's really cheering me up."
"Cheering you up?" Niall's asked in a confused tone.
"Yeah. After Louis told me her and Kylie...." my voice cracked, the sadness of earlier coming back. "k-kissed...I broke up with Louis and...."
"They WHAT?!" Niall shouted, shattering my ear drum.
"She didn't tell you that she was cheating on you?" I ask, not knowing Niall didn't know. The line went dead, so I set my phone back down, putting my head in my hands. I felt like crying again, and I didn't want to cry in front of Luke, let alone the other people in the building. I could hear Luke stand and and walk over to me, and feeling his arms snake around me, pulling me up with him. He pulling me into his check, hugging my tight.
