*Leslie's P.O.V.*
"Please, please tell me you're not seeing it too," I begged Mia who was sitting right next to me on the round table.
Mia snickered and smiled tenderly, as if she was enjoying my uncomfortable state. "It's not that bad," she mumbled, looking at the menu's cover. "It was time you came by to see him, too. He can't always make the moves," she said, gesturing towards the front door of the restaurant.
My eyes bulged out of their sockets and I felt my face grow hot. Who was walking in, was the guy who had delivered me my pizza the other day. The guy in front of whom I made a fool of myself.
"Wait," I turned back to Mia. "How do you know him?"
"He was the one who delivered our order the day I came to your house. He seemed to be waiting for you to answer the door, but to his disappointment, it was your dad," she chuckled. "The poor guy even asked for you, but your dad scared him off."
He asked for me?
I didn't have the chance to ask Mia more about that day, or the fact that the hottest delivery boy had asked for me, as my phone went off in my pocket.
"Hello?" I asked, not even glancing at the caller ID.
"If you are with Mia, don't say my name and go somewhere she won't be able to listen."
Not sparing a second, I excused myself from the table, saying I was on the phone with my mum and couldn't hear what she was saying.
Walking outside of the building, to the silence of the street, I sat down on a bench and started talking again. "What's wrong, Justin?" I asked, worried.
"Where are you guys? Why isn't Mia answering my calls?" he asked with a pinch of sadness in his voice.
Woah, wait. It was their date tonight, wasn't it? Why did Mia agree on coming here when she already had plans?
"We have gone to a pizzeria..." I said in a monotone voice. The truth is I felt bad for him. I always liked the guy and I truly shipped him with my best friend.
"B-But it was our date today..." he let out a huff. "She promised to come and at least listen to what I had to tell her. Leslie, I really can't live without her. I love her, damn it!"
I heard him sniff though the phone, and I couldn't take it anymore. I had to do something about it.
"The pizzeria is about six kilometers away from your house. I'll text you the address, but I want you to come here as quick as possible, you hear me? Dress well and move it, man!"
I hung up immediately and texted him the address. I couldn't help it, don't judge.
Although I can't do something to change my best friend's mind about the incident, at least I can help the innocent guy to explain himself.
Walking back to the restaurant, I reached the door and took a look at the sign on it.
Pull.
Call me weird, but I always got confused when it came to doors like that. Just get a door that opens both ways already!
Grabbing the handle, I felt it open much easier than I expected.
Walking inside - or maybe not even - I felt my body crashing with a wall, making me fall back on my butt.
"Oh, damn, I'm sorry! I didn't see you coming. Fuck, are you okay?" I heard a guy whisper-yell frantically.
Taking my time to stand up - which wouldn't be considered an easy task taken that I was wearing a tight dress and high heels - I could feel his eyes on me.
"Glad to see you again," he spoke up once I was back on my feet.
Looking up to meet his eyes, I jumped back in shock. Not such a clever move if you consider the fact that I had just regained my balance.
The guy grabbed me by my hand and waist. "Now, we don't want you falling again, do we?"
"Sorry," I laughed, trying to hide my embarrassment. "I j-just... I was taken aback that-"
"You saw me again?" he wiggled his eyebrows.
"Well..." I playfully smiled at him, trying to sound like I was flirting, "Not really," I deadpanned.
The guy - whose name I still didn't know - pointed at his heart. "You're hurting me right there, darlin'."
I chuckled, not knowing what to answer to that.
"I'm Drake," he stuck his hand out for me to shake.
"I'm-"
"Leslie, I know," he took my hand and kissed the back of it.
To say I was surprised would be an understatement. Not only that he knew my name, but also that he actually kissed my hand.
Our little chit-chat was interrupted by none other than Justin. He was running so fast that he barely avoided crashing into us.
"Finally, you're here!" I exclaimed.
Justin didn't say a thing; he was out of breath.
"So, I guess that will be a table for two?" Drake asked, scratching the back of his head uncomfortably.
"Actually... We already have a table over there," I pointed at the back, where Mia, Katerina and Spencer were sitting.
"Wait, you know Spencer?" he raised an eyebrow at me.
"Are you guys done yet?" Justin tapped his foot on the floor.
"Can't you wait a single minute?" I asked a little bit too desperately.
"If I wait a single minute more, I'll end up single too!" he whisper-yelled, motioning towards Mia and Spencer, who had somehow ended up sitting next to each other
"Oh no."
