*Leslie's P.O.V.*
I got to the hospital within fifteen minutes. Luckily enough Mia hadn't even got to whatever place she wanted to get food from and after informing her she returned to give me a ride to the hospital. She insisted on staying with me, but I refused to put her up for such a depressing situation.
"Call me if you need me," was the last thing I heard before running inside to find Drake.
When the sliding glass doors opened I came across a peaceful atmosphere. Unlike me, everyone seemed calm. I walked around trying to spot a familiar face.
"Miss, can I help you?" I heard before I spotted the one I was looking for.
I didn't think. I run towards him and enfolded him in my arms. His head on my shoulder, he started crying. We didn't speak. We didn't move. My eyes started tearing up too, but I tried holding them back. A couple moments later his mum arrived crying her eyes out too. I tried calming Drake down before sending him to comfort Samantha. They needed each other in a time like this.
"What happened?" Samantha asked as soon as they both calmed down.
Drake sat down on a chair next to me and put his hand on my knee and squeezed it. "She was feeling dizzy and unwell. She told me to help her to bed but she kept on losing her balance. When I got her here she almost fainted at the front desk and they took her in immediately," he shrugged. "It's been twenty minutes and no one has come out from the room since."
As if on cue, the door opened revealing a doctor probably in his late forties. "Are you family?" She asked and they both nodded while standing up. "Ms. Anderson had a silent heart attack," she paused for them to take in the information. "Her heart is too damaged from both the lack of oxygen and her illness itself. We don't know how much she will hold on."
"Does she have her senses? Can we see her?" Samantha asked the doctor while trying to hold back her tears.
"I'm afraid she's in a coma. But you can still see her. We'll try to reach her doctor and run some test, but her chances as small," she placed her hand on Samantha's shoulder. "I'm sorry."
"I'm going in," Drake's mum announced.
"Do you need me with you?" He asked holding her hand.
"One person at a time, please," a passing by nurse butted in. "Please," he repeated when Drake glared at him.
Samantha went in the room and Drake came to sit by my side again. I put my arm around him.
"She promised me she had more time," he said angrily. "She said she'll fight. She'd do it for me," he cried. "She was feeling better, I cooked for her, we even watched movies until she fell asleep all week," he curled his hand into a fist. "She was so happy until this happened."
"I'm sorry," I whispered caressing his head.
"I told her about your trip. She insisted that we video chat you so that she can see the view from your hotel and all the fancy buildings," he sniffed. "She was so happy when I told her I asked you to be my girlfriend. She was so happy," he put his arms around me and rested his head on my chest.
I felt so bad for him.
I felt sorry for Azura.
She was such a sweetheart and had so much strength in her. Definitely deserved better than this.
My mind wandered to my upcoming trip. Maybe I shouldn't go. Drake needed me. It's the exact situation Azura wanted me in his life for, I couldn't just leave him alone.
About five minutes later Drake's mum walked out. Her eyes were red as she was sobbing loudly. Drake turned to me, kissed my forehead and stood up to go to Azura. I followed behind him and went to sit with Samantha.
I didn't speak, just sat there holding her hand.
"Don't even think about it," she said in a warning tone.
"What?" I asked confused.
"You shouldn't cancel your trip. I heard Drake talk to my mum about it and she was so happy about you. You should go," she nodded her head.
"I don't know if I should. I mean, that was the only reason your mother wanted me in Drake's life-"
"-Don't be silly," she pushed some hair out of my face. "My mum loved you before even meeting you. You should have seen her after your first date with Drake. She was so sad when he came home and didn't talk to her about it. And last weekend, when he told her you were a couple-" she paused, "-her eyes lit up and she made him promise to keep you safe and loved." My heart fluttered with joy. "I just hope this hasn't put too much into your relationship. Try taking it slow and don't let my mothers big words pressure you. Get to know each other and have fun however long this lasts okay? And go to Italy and bring her back pictures. She would love to see them."
"Thank you," I whispered truthfully and wiped a tear from my cheek that I hadn't noticed falling.
It felt so good to have her advice. Even though she could be thinking about more important matters and ignore me, she took the time to comfort me too.
When Drake walked out the hospital room he asked if I wanted to go in.
"Hello Azura," I whispered when I walked into the room even though she couldn't listen. "It's me, Leslie," I went closer and sat down on a chair next to her hospital bed. "Azura, I don't know what to do. What if I leave and you leave too? What if I can't keep my promise to take care of Drake when he needs me most?" I paused. "Please don't leave."
