*Leslie's P.O.V.*

I spent the rest of my Thursday at the hospital. Samantha insisted on staying for the night and I decided on going home with Drake to keep him company until he falls asleep. My dad picked me up around 2am. I felt bad for him, but he told me he didn't mind. He even tried convincing Drake to spend the night with us but he declined.

On Friday I spent most of my time packing my stuff and talking to Drakw on the phone. He still hadn't heard any news from the doctors. All they would say was that she had a strong heart and she wouldn't give up. I kept on asking him if I should cancel my trip, but nothing had changed his mind.

On Saturday morning we left for the airport. I tried putting on a happy face, although both Mia and my mum knew what was on my mind.

"I'm travelling first class along with my client, so we'll meet again in Italy. Here are your tickets," my mum handed us two envelopes. "Leslie," she called me out, "cheer up, it's three days. I know it's hard, but it's three days of your dream. Better not let them go to waste."

Once on the plane, I put my phone on airplane mode and put on some music.

"Can I listen too?" Mia asked with a sweet smile on her face.

"It's Taylor Swift," I admited, knowing she wouldn't like it too much.

"I don't care, I want to listen what you do," she took an ear bud out of my ear and started listening to 'Soon You'll Get Better'.

'And I hate to make this all about me,' I sang in my brain. "But who am I supposed to talk to?" I whispered. "What am I supposed to do, if there's no you?"

Mia leaned closer and held me in a tight hug. "It's going to be okay, bestie. I'm here."

I rubbed my eyes to stop myself from crying. "I have to stop. It's not fair for you, we need to try and have fun," I nodded my head. "Now tell me, what's new with you?"

She squeezed my cheek and grinned. "I'm so happy for you. Drake is a great guy, I told you it would be a great summer since you first talked to me about him. Remember when he brought you that pizza?" She laughed earning a couple angry glares.

"Mia," I whined quietly. "I asked what's new with you."

"Can't I be proud for my best friend?"

"You can, but tell me; how are you with Justin? Are you getting married anytime soon?" I joked making her blush and look down. "No!" My eyes widened in disbelief.

"No, no, no! He hasn't proposed. We've just... talked about it," she shrugged.

"Have you written down your vows yet?"

She slapped my forehead and pushed me away. "You're an idiot, you know that?"

"You've made sure of it."

"Leslie, you know I love him, and truthfully, I can't see myself with anyone else as my partner. We've met each other's parents, we've been together so many years..." she rested her head on my shoulder. "I wouldn't mind if we started a life together. Like together-together."

"I couldn't be happier for you," I hugged her. "And I can't wait to be your maid of honor."

We arrived at nine in the evening, Italy time. We didn't get to see much, as my mum insisted to go get some rest at the hotel. Her client had ordered us some room service to thank her for the help, so we still got to taste the magic of this country.

In the morning I woke up to a text from Drake.

Drake: Everything's the same. Take care and please have fun <3

His text put a smile on my face and decided to follow his advice. I got up from my bed and went to the bathroom to wash up. Everything looked so fancy. I didn't have the courage to stay up the previous night to examine the place, but in the morning light I loved what I saw. Apart from the architecture and interior design of it all, there were a couple of small elemens taking everything a level up. For example, in the little open kitchen there was a plate of italian delicacy samples and a vase of fresh flowers. And the view...

I made a mental note to take some pictures for Azura and started brushing my teeth.

"Hurry, I wanna pee!" Mia knocked loudly on the door.

I chuckled and got out with my toothbrush in my mouth.

After waking up my mum we got dressed with our first non-formal outfits and went to breakfast.

"What are we doing today?" Mia asked once she returned from the buffet. She made sure to include most of it, ending up with two plates and three drinks.

"Do you really think Italian water tastes differently?" I raised my eyebrows amused.

"Leslie, let the girl eat. You've been doing it your whole life," my mum turned against me. "Mia, dear, enjoy your breakfast. Today we're going to do some sightseeing, take some pictures for your travel scrapbook and buy ourselves a few gifts and souvenirs," she announced like a travel guide.

"Our travel scrapbook?" Mia asked confused yet amused.

"It's your first trip abroad together, you can't not start a scrapbook! And I can't be the only one with a Pinterest in this group. You girls are a disappointment," she mumbled.

And she says I'm weird.

After eating much more than we should, we decided to go for a walk and try seeing as much as possible of the Italian architectural jewels. I didn't expect that I'd have to walk so much. My feet had started hurting before even reaching our first destination.

"What are you wishing for?" I asked Mia at some point during our walk.

She shrugged, "I don't know, yet. Does it have to be specific? Can I wish for eternal happiness? Can I wish for someone else's happiness? What about world peace? And how powerful is it? Do I have to watch out for misinterpretation-"

"Mia! Breathe," I stopped on my feet and bent down laughing.

"What?!" She put her hands up defensively.

"Does that happen on your birthday too?" I asked when it hit me, "is that why you never blow your own candles?!" I facepalmed myself. I should have known.

"I just can't make up my mind. Don't let me started on the selfishness dilemma. Is it selfish to wish something for myself and not for my loved ones? What if I get my happiness, but you for example end up depressed?" Her eyes started tearing up.

"Hey! Look at me," I stopped her from walking further and let my mum go give us some privacy. "You're not selfish, Mia. You are the most selfless person I know, trust me. If you don't wish for something personal, I will do it for you- actually, do you want to do that? I'll wish for what I think you'd want and you'll wish for me. Is that better?"

Without speaking a word she suddenly embraced me in a big, tight hug.

"You are the best best friend I could ask for."
