**Caroline's POV**
"My name is Caroline Vines and I like to play volley ball." As I said this I realized how much of a dork I was. Why couldn't I have said something else?
It was the first day of Sophomore year. Like always, our teachers made us introduce ourselves by telling everyone our name and then saying one thing that we like to do. It is always embarrassing. I never could understand why they made us do this every. single. year.
"So my name is Braxton Miller...umm I guess I like to play baseball?" I looked over at the guy who said this and dang, he was fine. I couldn't stop staring at his eyes. They were an amazing shade of green that perhaps I had never seen before. Then, he caught me. I immediately looked away, practically giving myself whip-lash, making the situation even more awkward.
We were currently in first period-Honors English. Our teacher seemed pretty cool. She is a little too loud for my liking though.
As class went on everyone just sat there, listening to Mrs.Hicks go over all of the rules and regulations. I couldn't help but return my gaze in Braxton. I have never seen him before, so maybe he is a new student or something. When I turned my head to look at the gorgeous boy, he was already looking at me.
It was a little weird so I just turned back around. The bell rung and we were cheerfully dismissed. Her voice is going to take some getting used to. It's the first day if school and I have already found something to complain about.
I was walking to my locker when I noticed someone tap my shoulder. I ignored it the first time and then the tap got harder.
I turned to face whoever it was that had touched me and it was Braxton. I could feel my palms getting sweaty already ( they do that when I'm nervous).
"Yeah?"
"I was wondering if you knew where room 402 B is?", his voice was extremely deep.
"It's in pod four. It should be the third door on your right." I said. He said thanks and smiled at me.
I pulled out my schedule, only to realize that I needed to go to room 402 B too. That's. Just. Great. He's going to think I'm following him or something. I dread walking in that stupid classroom.
I walked in and sat at the desk in the corner of the room. This would be my least favorite class, History. I hate history with a burning passion. I'm not very good at it either. Braxton was already there. He was sitting on the opposite side of the room, thank God. He started to laugh when I sat down, I'm guessing it's because we have the same class together for the second time today.
"What's so funny?" I said. I got a little bit of an attitude.
"You look like you want to get ran over by a semi-truck." When he said this, I too started to laugh. I mean it's true. I seriously could get hit by one right now and I wouldn't even care.
"I really really hate History, so yeah."
"Me too. I mean why do we even need to know this crap anyway?" As soon as he said this our teacher walked in. If looks could kill Braxton would be dead. Dr.Finchum was staring at him for the longest time, debating on whether or not to say anything in response.
Dr.Finchum clears his throat and begins to speak, breaking the silence left in the now full classroom.
"So, students, today marks the first day of this new and eventful school year." He takes a long moment to pause before he starts back up again. "As I have already heard today, some of you think there is no reasoning in this class. And those people are very incorrect. This class is to show you exactly what the past has been and also what the future holds. You will hear me say throughout this semester that history always repeats itself. I will be teaching you to prepare yourselves for is what to come, and it is your responsibility to listen. As for those of you who feel like what I just said doesn't agree with your "standards", I suggest you leave and find a more suitable teacher."
I look over at Braxton. He is just sitting there, calm. Me on the other hand, well I'm pretty much scared because he is calling us out. I can already tell that this semester is going to be a living hell. I am pulled back into reality when I hear him talking again.
"Since no one is leaving, I believe it is time for me to begin with your syllabus."
