a/n: I honestly had the first four chapters pre written so there will be quick updates until my work catches up with me. so you can enjoy the story now. it's gonna be worth it I promise. I've been working so hard so it better be worth it. anyway lots of love, ash ❤️❤️

We see the space station in the distance, rotating in orbit above. The shuttle slowly eases in and docks. Victor leads us into the command center.

"ETA till next cosmic event. 9 hours" he says leading.

"If your good, maybe next time daddy'll let you drive" Johnny says to Ben in his best attempt to sound like a Dad.

"Keep talking, there won't be a next time" I roll my eyes at the fact they already started with each other. Unlike me Reed is focused on the earth below us. It was crazy we were there just moments ago and now it seemed smaller.

"Long way from the projection booth at the Hayden Planetarium, isn't it?" She asked Reed and he quickly turns to her eyes wide. The fact she'd bring up something so personal to the both of him gave him a sense of joy I could easily see. He smiles slowly to not scare away the nicest thing she's said to him the whole trip.

"Yes. Yes it is" I hear behind me as Sue joins my side and Reed keeps looking at the stars, eyes wide, like a little kid. We enter the nerve center of the space station.

"We can monitor the clouds approach and observe the test from here" Sue said as we walked in.

"Is it safe?" Ben asked.

"The shields on the station should protect us" Reed said but Ben just gave him a look.

"Should?"

"What's the matter Ben? Getting paranoid in your old age" Ben turns to Victor. A little tension fills the room but Reed stops it before it starts.

"Let's start loading those samples. Get your suit ready, Ben" as Ben nods Victor keeps his eyes on him.

"So you still do all the heavy lifting?" Victor asks but the friendly smile on his face covers up that his comment was meant to be rude. He just pats Reed acting as if nothing was wrong.

"Maybe you should have stayed back in the lab. Field work never suited you" Reed doesn't defend himself against the comment so Ben steps up, just like he always does.

"He does the talking. I do the walking. Got it?" Victor is obviously defeated but keeps a tight smile on his face as he nods.

"So take a walk Ben. Actually if you all excuse me I'm going to borrow Susan for a moment" Reed's smile faltered and Ben keeps an annoyed expression.

"Sure" Reed says and we all study him. Yet he covers up his emotions well. As Ben preps for a space walk, putting on a helmet and boots. Me and Johnny unload a set of clear sample boxes off of a cart, each containing a variety of plants.

"Please tell me your guys not trying to rekindle things with my sister again" Johnny says and I stop and look him.

"Your guy?"

"Course not. Strictly business" Me and Ben say at the same time but Johnny chooses to reply to Ben.

"Yeah, well, his eyes say differently don't they?" Johnny actually seemed slightly serious about this and it surprised me.

"Hey, two hearts got busted last time. Maybe she's not over it either" Bens wise comment sent a smile to my face but Johnny just chuckled.

"Wow Doctor Phil that's deep. Let's think about that, you got Victor, more money than God, stud of the year. Or Reed, the world's dumbest smart guy worth less than a postage stamp. That a real toss-up" Johnny said and Ben shook his head.

"Don't trouble your tiny little mind" Bens comment didn't affect Johnny.

"Don't you wander off now boy" Johnny says as he steps out of the air-lock and shuts the door. He looks through saluting him and giving two thumbs up to see Ben give the thumbs up back. The airlock door opens, and Ben gracefully steps into space. It took me a moment to realize me and Johnny were left alone. Where are you Reed, Sue?

"Finally some privacy" his voice is low and I tense. Sadly my big brain didn't include a strong demeanor and you could easily see it didn't take much to get to me.

"I-I wouldn't consider it privacy" I tried to distract myself with monitors on Bens stability. Yet it didn't work as Johnny pressed himself flush against me. I could feel almost everything and I was thankful it wasn't everything. His hands slowly moved to my waist as my breathing became unsteady and I tried to think of ways to escape the situation.

"Well it's just you and me-"

"And security cameras" he chuckled at my quick response.

"Maybe later we can go to my room and do some things never done in space before" his head had moved closer to my neck and I shuttered at his hot breath hitting my skin. I could easily see him smile loving my reaction and how he was getting to me.

"I-um. I don't- that's not.."

"Ben you need to get inside now" Reed ran in the room yelling into the radio causing Johnny to move away from me.

"What's going on?" he asked a hand still on my hip.

"I ain't done arranging your flowers yet egghead" Bens voice filled the room

"Ben. Turn around" Johnny starts motioning to Ben to look behind him. As he turns he see's the cosmic storm rumbling towards us. It's not close but yet it's not far and that gains Bens attention

"Guys I'm not gonna make it" he turns back towards the ship but behind him the storm grows. Reed, Johnny, and I stand by the airlock, waiting for Ben.

"Ben you gotta jump, it's the only way" Johnny yells out to him.

"Come on, Ben, come on..." Reed mumbles to himself.

"C'mon Ben you got this!" Johnny yells as he floats through the air closer to the door.

"Okay Johnny get ready to close the portal" Reed instructs him and he nods running to the panel.

In agonizing, weightless slow motion Ben reaches to haul himself inside. The leading edge of the cloud hits and Ben is pelted by a hissing mass of space dust, splattering his suit with orange stains. Larger particles, small pellets, pepper him. Almost in slow motion we get hit by the storm. Johnny is hit with sparks of flame from a control panel as Reed reaches for Ben. Vapor stream pours down on Sue from a blown gasket. Space dust burns into Ben's skin as the large force pushes me into the wall of panels my head smashing against the metal.

As my eyes flutter shut the station falls in complete darkness. I try to keep myself awake and as quickly as it came the cloud passes and the power quietly flickers on. It was dead silent. Reed and Johnny scramble to open the interior air lock door as they pull Ben in. Sue joins my side pulling me off of the panel.

"Are you okay?" she asked but I shook my head.

"It doesn't matter, where is Ben?" I ask as the boys try to remove his helmet. We cant see his face, but he's clearly unconscious.

"He's not responsive!" Reed yells.

"Ben! Ben!" Johnny shouts as Sue helps me stand.

"Wait I found a pulse" Reed exclaimed. I tried to walk but I fell lightly making a ton of noise as my knee's hit the ground. Johnny looked up moving towards me and Sue as she struggled to bring me back up. Johnny easily lifted me and I patted his chest in a thanks.

"Do you got her?" Sue asked Johnny putting all my weight in his arms. He nodded and she sighed.

"Okay I'm gonna go check on Victor" she said running away causing Reed to frown. My hands laid on Johnny's chest as my head laid against it as well. His hands were on both of my arms holding me up.

"Are you okay?" he asked but I shook my head no. I finally had to admit it. My head hurt and I could barely keep my eyes open.

"Okay" he said moving his arms to my waist and picking me up, cradling me as he tried to be as gentle as he could.

"We will get you fixed up" he said and I nodded slowly closing my eyes as he carried me out of the room. That's all I remembered until I was completely surrounded by black.
