05; what about Emma?

a/n: I'm so excited about this book. I keep writing it which is bad considering I have two other books I need to update soon or my fans will get aggravated but I just can't stop. when you get into something it's impossible to stop. anyways enjoy. lots of love, ash ❤️❤️

We were all in a taxi cab trying to move as fast as we could but something is holding us up on the Brooklyn bridge. I look to Reed who stayed up front with the driver hoping he knew something but as soon as I saw his face I knew he was confused as well. Finally sensing the worst we all exit the cab to see the action. Cars were smashed into each other everywhere. We race towards the action pushing past crowds of people. Bridge police herd the crowd.

"What do we do now?" Sue immediately seeks help from Reed and is surprised to see he's become the leader of our little mission.

"We're not gonna get past these guys, but you could" Sue starts to concentrate, closing her eyes, slowly see disappears.

"Sue. Your clothes. Lose them" Reed is is sharp with the words within his whisper.

"Right" she starts taking off her clothes.

"This is so wrong" Johnny mutters and I chuckle him giving me a look. She reaches back to undo her bra and momentarily loses concentration and becomes visible.

"Wow. You've been working out" Reed says obviously not thinking. Sue gives him an angry look.

"Shut up" she says sharply concentrating again. Yet nothing happens. Gaining frustrated and embarrassed she starts to yell at Reed.

"Any more great ideas. Why don't you strip down and have a hundred people stare at you!" her anger must have unlocked something and she disappears. Her garments floating and jaws drop.

"Uh, Sue?" she stops her rant,

"What?"

"Oh" she realizes she's invisible again. Soon she finishes striping and the crowd stares dumbfounded.

"I'm gonna need therapy" Johnny says and I laugh.

"You already did" I said.

"Hey, come on. Let's get out of here" Reed says as me and Johnny both scramble to pick up Sue's cloths and rush off. Reed races through wreckage. We find Sue and she puts her clothes back on.

"I still can't believe you made me do that" she says angrily.

"We got through didn't we? Just find Ben" Reed rushes off as me, Sue, and Johnny loiter. Sue climbs a taxi standing on the roof.

"Ben, Ben!" Sue sees something and she gasps. I saw a young girl calling out for her mother. I started running towards her.

"Emma!" Johnny called out to me but I didn't listen as I joined her side.

"It's okay, we'll get you out of here" I said but then flames lash out causing the young girl to scream. Suddenly Johnny jumps over the car wrapping himself around me and the girl as the flames explode. His back takes all the heat from me and the girl as it burns his back. Him of course being used to the new found heat. All of a sudden the air seems to ripple. Slowly the flames were pushed down and Johnny stood helping me and the girl up.
