We shot through the trees in a helicopter, the trees just below us but the beautiful horizon up ahead. We soar over timberland and see something massive on the horizon. A space craft. A sleek take on a space shuttle. Modern tech combined with industrial design that NASA could never afford. The crafts nose is pointed straight up and ready for launch. Workers in jumpsuits were scattered around the 200 foot tall scaffolding doing routine checks so the launch would go perfectly.
We finally landed and settled in before launching. Me, Ben, and Reed found ourselves on a balcony next to the shuttle looking out to the mountains with our hard hats on and binoculars in hand. We were still waiting on Sue's brother Johnny and Ben was already annoyed and the kid wasn't even here yet. Then I spoke to soon and the boy appeared on a motorcycle. He was on a motorcycle driving closely to a Corvette kissing a red head. Me and Reed us both watching the man who was supposed to take us to space do one of the most dangerous things ever. Ben looked up to the space craft a sneer on his face.
"Can't do it. I cannot do it" he said his voice aggravated.
"External SRB's, orbital system engines. It's just like the shuttles you flew in-"
"No. I cannot take orders from that underwear model"
"Oh come on" I said but he turned to me and Reed.
"That wing nut washed out of NASA for sneaking two Victoria Secret wannabes into a flight simulator" I almost chuckled at the thought.
"Youthful high spirits" Reed tried to stand up for Johnny but Ben wasn't buying it.
"They crashed it into a wall. A flight simulator" Reed sighed wrapping his arm around my shoulder.
"When have I asked you to do something you absolutely said you could not do?" Reed asked.
"Five times" he said holding up five fingers.
"I had it at four" Reed said and I shook my head him looking back to Ben from me.
"This makes five" he said running off. I just shrugged at Reed and went to go find Susie in the locker room leaving him to the view.
"There you are Emma. I have your suit for the flight" she said as I entered our separate room seeing we were girls.
"Are you okay?" I asked as I stripped so I could get into the suit.
"I'm okay, why?" she asked and I stopped zipping up my uniform and shaking my long brown locks so they fell loosely into their waves.
"Please I've been watching you since the meeting. Reed is obviously getting to you" I said and she sighed stopping what she was doing.
"I shouldn't be letting him. He still hasn't changed. My heart doesn't need to be broken by him twice" she seemed obviously aggravated and I sighed.
"He loves you Sue, he just doesn't know how to love you. He doesn't want to screw up again and he doesn't realize he still is in the process" I packed away my other clothes into the locker.
"Emma I know Reed and Ben are your best friends. You guys have been together for forever and I know you want to make him seem like he's not the bad guy but I can't be in a relationship with someone who can't appreciate me" she was right but I knew I was right too.
