a/n: and this is the end. thanks for reading you guys. i loved everything about writing this story and I hope you guys loved it to. the epilogue is quite short but I think it sums it up well. thanks again. lots of love, ash ❤️❤️

"Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday dear Jake, Happy birthday to You" the boy bent over blowing out the candles on the cake I held in front of him. Reed grabbed the cone paper hat on his head and pulled it up before letting go and letting it snap back on his head. He rubbed his head lightly as he smiled at us.

"Thanks guys, this is a great birthday" Jake said before taking a swig of his beer.

"Thanks Johnny for making it possible for me to spend my birthday with my brother and sister again" Jake reached over and patted Johnny's back as he drank his beer too.

"It's no problem. Anything for my girl" he replied smirking as he pulled me down into his lap.

"Ah ah ah, I'm not your girl until you ask me" I said shaking my finger at him and standing up from his lap. He pouted at me and I chuckled kissing his nose.

"But when you do at least know my answer will be a yes" I said and he smirked.

"Can I count that as your answer now and pretend I just asked you?" and I shook my head lightly hitting him as the others laughed.

"Oh crap guys. I gotta run. I'm picking up Katherine from the airport. I'll see you all later" Lawrence walked over and kissed my head before waving and running off. I slightly wished Lawrence was gonna bring Katherine back here but he was set on purposing to her as soon as she stepped off the plane.

Katherine was Lawrence's girlfriend of 5 years and he finally decided it was time to settle down and start a family with her. I also may of helped a little because I've been begging for nieces and nephews for the past two years. Katherine was on a work trip for about 5 months and I guess that was enough time for Lawrence to get his shit together and get ready to ask. I looked out to the city lights. We were having the party on the roof of the Baxter Building and even with the cool breeze it was the best idea I've ever had.

"Hey" Sue said joining my side for I had made my way to the edge of the roof looking to all the life below us.

"Hey" I smiled at her as I drank some of the wine I had poured myself.

"What are you thinking about?" she asked and I shrugged lightly.

"My brother, Katherine. He's gonna tie the knot tonight. I'm not even close-"

"Johnny is pretty set on making you his" I sighed and looked to her.

"His girlfriend. I still have to wait years until I'm married and have kids. And what if Johnny isn't set on a family or anything. How did my brother find something so amazing and I'm blind to it"

"He took a chance. He didn't know she would be the one but he dared to love and now that's what you got to do" she looked back her eyes landing on her brother who sat in a chair. I smiled as he laughed at something Jake said his head tipping back lightly as the dimples in the sides of his face expanded. His eyes squinted lightly and his head returned to facing forward as he sipped some of his beer.

"I never thought it would be him"

"Yeah but now that he's standing there. What are you waiting for" I smiled at her lightly. She was right.

"Dare to love Emma" and that was exactly what I did.
