06; I'm no hero

a/n: I am missing being on vacation honestly like why can't I just be back. Vegas was so nice and warm and my hotel had the best view. but anyway I guess I did miss Buffalo like this is my hometown son don't mess with me because I will prove this is the greatest place on the planet. anyway have fun reading. lots of love, ash ❤️❤️

We soon reach the Baxter Building where me and Reed basically live within our study. Yet getting in is hell. Crowds and fans of the new super team are pushing to get at us as cops hold them back. We all move quickly accept for Johnny who soaks up the attention and autographs. Reporters snap pictures and yell questions that can't be heard over the screaming of our new fan base.

"Cmon Ben smile. They wanna like you. Say some thing nice" Johnny says to Ben as he passes. Ben stops considering and then turning to a group of small kids completely stiff looking for the right thing to say.

"Uh...don't do drugs" the kids stare completely terrified. Johnny continues smile bright as he signs more posters and pictures. I look over to see a little girl holding a sign. It was small and gray and a little wrinkled and in messy black hand writing it read. 'If there wasn't tech support. There's no team'. Little stick figures of the Fantastic Four and me were drawn on the bottom. A little arrow pointing to me the words at the end of it saying 'the real hero'. My heart completely burst as Johnny joined my side.

"Go talk to her" I walked over, Johnny on my tail as I bent down to her height.

"Hello beautiful. What's your name?" I asked sweetly and she smiled missing two teeth on the top.

"Laura"

"Well Laura, did you know your the coolest fan out here" her smile was huge as she reached to hug me.

"Could she take a picture with you" a woman I assumed was her mother asked and I nodded moving her beside me as the woman snapped a picture.

"Can I sign your poster Laura?" I asked and she nodded handing me a marker. I quickly signed it and handed it back.

"Laura, remember no matter what you do you are always a hero" I said and she nodded as I stood up. I saw Johnny staring at me and I gave him a look.

"You're amazing" the words fell easily from his mouth and I blushed. I turned to see the others staring at me to.

"Let's go inside" I said and we all walked in. We are greeted by Jimmy O'hoolihan, an old-time doorman with a kind smile.

"Dr. Richards, Dr. Geller. All that for you?" he motions to the cameras outside.

"I'm afraid so..." Reed searches for his name but Sue has to step in.

"Jimmy. Good to see you again" he smiles at Sue and Reed.

"Good to see you too. Don't worry, sir. I know how crowded that head of yours is" he says and Reed nods.

"Any visitors while I was away?" he ask and Jimmy shakes his head.

"Just the usual. Told 'em you were circling round outer space" We nod walking away.

"Welcome back to the Baxter Dr. Geller, Richards. I got the usual for you" our mailman hands Reed a bunch of letters from the bank.

"Thanks Willie" Reed and I become sheepish looking to Johnny and Sue our new time visitors.

"We had a tough year" Reed tries to explain for us but Ben cuts in.

"Yeah like nine straight" we walk to the elevator in hopes to leave the awkward situation. We enter the elevator and Reed hits the top button for the twentieth floor.
