Part Twelve: Big Surprise

So right now everyone is getting ready to head back to the hotel. We all stayed at the venue and ate my birthday cake and I opened my gifts.

My mom got me a new guitar, Makayla got me a purple microphone with my name on it, Brian got me a 50 dollar gift card to Starbucks and some cute guitar picks. Then my mom had handed me a card. It was from Grace. 

I opened it and she sent some money and wrote something in the card.

Happy birthday baby sis, I miss you very much. I've been thinking a lot lately and you were right. I should have been there for you and I'm sorry. 

I wasn't able to make it today but I promise I'll see you soon. And I'll bring your real gift with me.

I started to tear up a bit and my mom came and hugged me. 

"She really wanted to come today Mija, but she had tests at school."

"I know, it's okay." I got up from where I had been sitting and that's when everyone started to head back to their hotels. But before my mom,Makayla, and Brian could leave Shawn stopped them.

"You guys we have something we want to tell you." He looked at me and nodded. I knew exactly what he was talking about.

They all stopped and started smiling really big like they already knew what we were going to say.

"Me and Shawn, well we're dating now." I said interlocking my fingers with his. I looked down at our hands and I couldn't help but smile.

"Well it's about time!" My mom said and then she gave Shawn a big hug. We both started laughing and Makayla was freaking out so much.

"Yes! I am so happy for you!!" Mak said and then she got real serious. She walked over to Shawn and grabbed him by the ear.

"I swear if you ever hurt her in anyway, I will come and cut off your legs and beat you with them!" Then she smiled and hugged him.

His face was priceless!

"Well okay then." He said coming back over to me. I'm pretty sure he's a little bit afraid of her now.

"Are you ready?" He asked me while wrapping his arms around me.

"Ready for what?" 

"For your next surprise." He started walking towards his car and so I followed. He opened the door for me and I got in. 

"Wait. Jason and John aren't coming with us?" I said looking back.

"No because where we are going there isn't going to be anyone around."

I gave him a suspicious look and then we left. 

We finally came to a stop at an open field. I could see something in the middle of the field but I couldn't make out what it was.

"Come on." Shawn said opening my door for me. He is such a gentleman. "Hop on." He said motioning for me to hop on his back. I jumped on his back and he gave me piggy back ride.

When we were finally close enough I could see that there was a picnic set up with pretty lights. The sun had just set so it made it even more beautiful.

"Wow!!" I said while Shawn set me down. I started looking around at everything in amazement. Then I noticed that Shawn was standing there just staring at me. 

I stopped and looked at him and he was standing there smiling at me. I walked over and wrapped my arms around him. 

"How did I get so lucky?" He said as we stood there in eachother's arms.
