There he is, standing right in front of me. He still looks the same, only older.

"Hi." I said frozen in my spot.

"Hello Lexi." It was very awkward for a moment and then he finally let us in.

"You must be Shawn. Thank you for getting ahold of me about meeting." My dad said shaking Shawn's hand.

"No problem, it's nice to meet you." Shawn smiled at him politely.

We walked in and I saw two little girls running around playing. They stopped and looked at me and smiled. They looked maybe around the ages of six and seven.

"Who are they?" I turned and asked my dad.

"Those are your little sisters." I was in shock. I didn't know my dad had remarried. I didn't know anything about my dad.

I walked into the living room where they were playing and they stopped and looked at me.

"Hi, do you guys know who I am?" I said sitting down on the couch next to them.

"Yeah, you're our sister right? Our dad told us you were coming." The older looking one said.

"Yeah that's right. What are your names?" I was trying so hard not to cry at this point. How could he not call to tell me and Grace that we have little sisters?

"I'm Natalie and this is Jess." Said the little one.

"Well it's really nice to meet you girls. I want you to know if you ever need anything you can call me okay?" I got out a piece of paper and pen out of my bag and wrote down my phone number.

They took it from me and Natalie put it in her pocket. "Maybe while I'm here I can take you girls out and get to know you. How does that sound?" They both smiled their cute little smiles and nodded.

I got up and saw both Shawn and my dad smiling at me. I walked over and grabbed Shawn's hand and we followed my dad into another room.

"So, I'm guessing I should probably start talking first." My dad said sitting down in a chair.

I sat down across from him and Shawn sat next to me. I can only imagine how awkward this is for Shawn.

"After I left and me and your mother split I lived in the states for a while. I got a job as a photographer for a nature magazine. I was on my own for a while until I met Angela. She was a journalist and she liked to travel. Well long story short we got married and I moved here to be with her. We had kids and now here we are. She's at work right now but I'd love for you to meet her." He was talking as if everything were okay between us.

"Dad. I'm really glad that you are happy, but you can't get around what I'm really her to talk to you about." He didn't make eye contact with me and he obviously wasn't going to say anything, so I started talking first.

"You have no idea what you did when you left. Mom worked her butt off to support us. She came home tired and stressed every night, but always made sure that me and Grace were okay. She never complained and she never stopped working hard." I took and deep breath and then continued.

"After you left it was hard for me to trust anyone. I never made any close friends for a while because I thought everyone would just leave. I was in every music class possible so that I wouldn't think about you or how you just left." I started to cry and then my dad finally started talking.

"Lexi I'm sorry." That's all he could say?

"I'm sorry doesn't make the last tens years of my life okay!" I was yelling at him now. "Why didn't you ever call? Why didn't you ever write? Oh that's right because you didn't care about anyone but yourself!" I felt Shawn grab my hand and was trying to calm me down.
