Chapter 17: Confrontation

*Crystal's POV*

"Hello Mia."

"Hello."

We stood there staring at each other, the tension was most definitely there. I looked and seen she had a couple of people with her, her pathetic posse.

I tried to stay cool, it was the festival and I didn't want anything happening that would mess that up.

"How you been Crystie? I haven't seen you in a while! We sort of miss you around." I can see straight through that fake smiles plastered on her's and her friends faces.

"Yea, well I've been good. I heard about you and Roctu, really sorry to hear that." As I was speaking she started winking at some guy that walked pass.

"Huh? Oh yea! Really didn't work out me and him. So I heard you came here as his date. How does it feel to finally be with your little crush?"

"Well actually I'm not-"

"As for me?  I most definitely upgraded from him to a demigod!"

"Wait what? What are you talking about?" She gave me a cocky smile and responded, "My date is Maui, of course you know I only hang with the best."

'Ohhhhh, that's what she's doing! She really thinks I'm stupid? And he's MY date?! Really?

"Oh so you came here with Maui, huh Mia?"

"Absolutely! He just went off somewhere. We want to keep our relationship hush hush. Don't want too many people to know."

'Oh brother!'

I gave her a sly smile and said, "You know, the crazy thing is that Maui is MY date for this evening."

Everyone in front of me stood there shock for a moment, then started to laugh in my face. 'God do I hate them!'

"YOU!?!? And a demigod? Hahahaha! You don't believe I'm supposed to believe that!"

My blood started to boil at her and her annoying laughing friends. "And what makes you think that he would ask you Mia?"

"Hmmmm, let's see. I'm gorgeous, smart, fun, popular, and well straight out perfect. Basically the total opposite of a....loser? Good for nothing? Freak? Or whatever YOU are!"

I felt so hurt and worthless, I knew I shouldn't have came. My eyes started to water and I bit my lip to calm myself down.

"Awwwww, look! She never changed! The same emotional little girl she's always been. A shame!"

I was about to go when I felt a pair of huge arms hug my waist from behind.

*Maui's POV*

When I finished eating, I went to find Crystal. It took me a while, but I found her talking to some girl.

As I got closer, I heard the most ridiculous thing! The girl Cryst was talking to, claimed that I was HER date for tonight. 'What the heck?'

I listen to the whole conversation up to the point when they started insulting her and making her cry. 'How dare they!?!?! Time to make this chick look stupid.'

I went behind Crystal and wrapped my arms around her. I placed my face in the crook of her neck and gave her loving kisses. "Hey beautiful, I missed you. I couldn't find you anywhere." I spoke loud enough so the jerks could hear me.

I looked up from Crystal and gave a fake shock of recognition to the group. "Oh hi, I didn't even see you guys there. Of course you know I'm Maui. How are you guys doing tonight?"

They all looked at me, then looked at the girl in front of them. She must be the ring leader. They all mumbled that they were fine and kept quiet after that.

Then the snobby chick in front started to speaker but I cut her off. "I've never seen you guys before. I would like to get to know you. How bout we start with you." I said pointing at her.

"Me?"

"Yea you! Who are you?"

"My name is Mia," she mumbled embarrassed. I pretended to not hear her and to be distracted by Crystal, giving her kisses on her neck and cheeks.

"Huh? Oh I'm sorry sweetheart, I couldn't quite catch that."

"Mia, my name is Mia."

"Nice to meet you for the first time Mia, how old are you? No! No! Let me guess....you arrrrrre 12? No no, let's go with 14! You're 14?

She gave me a look of disbelief, "I'm 20 years old!"

"Hahahaha, yea right, sure you are! And how bout you guys?" I turnt my gaze to the followers, completely ignoring her. They introduced themselves.

"Cool! Nice to get to know everyone! Now if you guys excuse us, me and my beautiful date here want some alone time. Have a goodnight. Come on babe."

And with that I pick Crystal up bridal style and headed for the beach. 'Teach them to mess with my girl.'
