Chapter 12: You Like Her!

*Maui's POV*

I was running as far away from Moana as possible but she was so fast. I stopped to take a breathe and she was....gone? 'Ha! I lost her!'

Just then someone jumped on my back, "You leave Heihei alone!"

"Moana! Ouch! Stop hitting me, I'll just go after Pua," I laughed.

"MAUI! STOP IT YOU EVIL DEMIGOD!"

I pulled her off of me and held her at arms length. "You need to chill," then I dropped her.

I looked up at the tree above me and took a bunch of bananas off it. We ate in a couple of minutes in silence.

I sat there thinking about Cryatal. 'I wonder if she would like to gaze the stars with me tonight.' I looked at Moana and she was smiling at me.

"What?"

"You like her, don't you?"

"Like who?"

She threw a banana peel at me, "Crystal. You like Crystal, don't you?"

I gave her a look to mask my feeling, "Pfff, what makes you think that?"

"Hmmmm, I don't know! How bout the fact that you both spent 2 days being together, you're always giggling and blushing at each other. Oh! May I add you were thinking out loud, stating you wanted to go star gazing."

"Wait! I said that out loud!?!?!"

"Yup!"

I sat there quiet, feeling embarrased. How can I cover this up?

"It's ok Maui, there's nothing wrong with liking someone."

"We're just friends Moana."

"Yea, but you don't want to be. You want to be something more!" All I could do was look at her, she was right! Really wanted to be more than friends.

"I think you have a shot."

"You really think so? What if she doesn't feel the same way back?"

"You never know unless you try. Take her as a date to the harvest festival next week. I heard the guys down in the village were gonna finally ask her out. You could beat them to it."

I sat in thought. I have to ask her first......but what if she says no? That can mess up the bond that we formed, make everything all awkward.

"Can you at least see if she wouldn't mind going with me?"

She gave me a smile. "Maui," she put her hand on my shoulder, "it would my pleasure."
