Silence And Sound

Chapter 26.

Niall's POV:

I had offered to pick Hannah up, but she said she wanted to drive in her car. So at 10.45am she was outside my house. I grabbed my jacket and walked out to her car. It was a white Range Rover, a bit more expensive than my own car. Or my parents' car to be honest. 

"Nice, right?" she asked when I sat in the passenger seat. I nodded. 

"You look good" I said. She really did. She was wearing a pink crop top and white shorts. Her bellybutton was pierced and it matched her necklace and bracelet. 

"Then wait till you see me tonight! I'm a killer babe when I'm partying" she laughed. 

"I can imagine that" I said and she giggled. We drove to a little cafe in town and parked outside. I felt pretty small next to her. Not because she was taller than me, but because she looked like a star and I looked like a little school boy. 

"Aw it looks so nice" she said when we entered the cafe. There was only a few people already, so it was easy to get a table. We sat by the window and ordered brunch for both os us. 

"I really hope it isn't just bacon and muffins. I can't eat that" Hannah sighed.

"I'm sure there's fruit or something" I said. Alex was so much easier. She just ate whatever got served. She loved food. Stop thinking about Alex. Stop it. You're with someone else right now. I looked back at Hannah. Okay she was a little complicated when it came to food. But that was the only flaw she had. Everything else about her was perfect. 

"Why are you staring at me like that?" she giggled. 

"Sorry. I just thought about how amazing you are" I said, hoping it didn't sound creepy. She smiled and looked down at her plate so I assumed she didn't think I was a creep. 

"You don't have a girlfriend do you?" she suddenly asked.

"No why?" I asked a bit confused. I thought it was a little weird to ask about, just like that.

"I'm just making sure that I'm not stealing someone else's man" 

"Oh" was the only thing I could say. Stealing someone else's man? Was she about to steal me? She had only known me for like 2 days.

"Sorry I'm not usually this straightforward. It's just, I think you're really cute. I like you Niall" she whispered. I felt a lump in my throat and tried swallowing it. What was I supposed to say? I took a sip of my water just to do something instead of just sitting there. 

"I like you a lot too" I finally said. Not what I wanted to say, but that was better than nothing. She grabbed my hand on the table and gave it a squeeze. In that moment we got interrupted by our waiter. I was thankful that the food finally came. Maybe that would break the tension. 

"Look there's fruit" I said and pointed to her plate. She nodded and put the little strawberry in her mouth. She continued eating the fruit, but after that she stopped eating.

"Aren't you gonna be hungry again soon?" I asked while chewing my toast.

"I'm always hungry Niall. But that's the prize of having a hot body" she said. I wanted to roll my eyes at her, but that would be rude, so I just nodded like I agreed. 

I finished eating everything on my plate plus her muffin before we paid and left the cafe. Luckily she had changed the subject from her diet to the party later. She said it wasn't that fancy, but still, we needed new clothes. And by "we", she meant me. I was sure that she had hundreds of fancy dresses in her closet. She just wanted me to fit in. Hannah knew a lot of great stores and showed me what she wanted me to look like. Black jeans, a white shirt and a blazer. It sounded okay. 

"You're gonna look so sexy in this!" she whined when she showed me an outfit she had chosen. I sighed and went to the dressing room. I tried it on, and to be honest it did look pretty good. 

"Let me see" Hannah said and looked at me. 

"You look so handsome! You need to buy this" she said while stroking my shoulders.

"I think it's way too expensive" I mumbled. 

"I'll pay. I invited you to this party, so let me pay" she said.

"No way. Never mind, I'll just find something else"

"No it has to be this! You're so hot in this, I need you to wear this! I insist" she said. After a few minutes I gave up and let her pay. I hated when other people bought something this expensive for me, but it seemed like she would never give up. After paying for my clothes, Hannah dragged me into a big store full of dresses. I had never seen that many dresses in my life. 

"I need to find something that matches your outfit... How about this?" she asked and showed me a white dress. To be honest it looked more like a top. It was REALLY short and looked like it was gonna be very tight.

"It's pretty" I said. I just wanted to get out of here as fast as possible. I hated shopping. 

"I'll try it on" she said and found the dressing room. I sat down on a couch and waited for her.

"What do you think?" she asked and stood in front of me. She looked hotter than ever. I think I might have dropped my jaw to the floor because she started giggling.

"I take that as a compliment" she laughed. 

"You look amazing" I stuttered. 

"Thank you. Can you help me? I need you to unzip me"  she said. I walked over to her and unzipped the dress. It fell to the floor and she was now standing in just her underwear. Liam and Harry were right. Her boobs were incredible. I couldn't stop staring and she didn't even do anything to cover herself. 

"Like what you see?" she laughed. I couldn't even form a sentence.

"You're hot man" I said, which made her laugh even harder. 

"I sound like the biggest loser ever" I laughed.

"Yeah but you're a cute loser" she giggled and kissed my cheek. Maybe she wasn't that bad.

Alex' POV:

I was sitting in my room with my laptop when Debby suddenly called. 

"Hey Debs, what's up?" I said. 

"Alex guess who I just saw!" she said. She sounded serious.

"Who?" 

"Niall! With that bitch he's seeing!" 

"Hannah?" I asked. I felt the knot in my stomach. Jealousy? Yes.

"Yes. They're out shopping. I saw them in that big dress store when I was looking for a dress to my cousin's wedding! I was with my mom, so I couldn't walk over there, but I swear something's going on! He was like staring at her all the time and had his arm around her, and I even saw them kissing! While she was in her underwear!" Debby said. I knew they were out shopping, but this was too much for me. This was the reason I hated everyone. This was the reason I didn't trust people. Niall had told me so much shit in the last few months, and now he had moved on?! He was already kissing other girls, and he had only known this one for 2 days! 

"Alex, are you there?" Debby asked. 

"Yeah..."

"How are you?" 

"I don't know. I didn't think he was that serious when he talked about dating her... I thought he was just gonna see her one time and maybe watch a movie. Not two dates in a row, a party and kissing already. I hate this" I mumbled. 

"Yeah he's a dick"

"No not him. I don't blame him. It's my own fault. But I hate this. This feeling. The jealousy, it's not really me, you know?" I said.

"I know. A lot has changed since you met him"

"Yeah. Yeah it has" I said. I hung up and looked at my phone. What was I supposed to do? I couldn't stop Niall from being happy with her. I just had to get over it and get my shit together. I had to.
