Gladness rushed through my body when I saw him. I felt safe, happy that my hero came to free me from the monster's grip but unfortunately, I was the only one who saw it that way.
His hazel eyes were burning with anger, fixed upon me. Hands clenching so hard, his knuckles turned white. His throbbing green vein became visible in his neck. His shirt seemed to tighten around his chest as it rose and fell shakily. He thought I was the one kissing Ace. The air became heavy around us, it's heaviness overweighted my lungs. I stepped away from the devil and moved towards the man I love, "I was being attacked," My heart began to pound in my throat as I swiftly tried to correct his thoughts. Robert blinked and took a step backward, holding his hand up to stop me, "Don't." His voice shook the hallway with outrage. Robert looked at Ace with disgust and stormed off, leaving me alone. I froze, not believing what happened. "Wow." Ace's shrill laughter snapped me out of my frozen state. It rang in my head, pushing me off the edge, making me lose control. I couldn't bear staying in my spot, I had to run after Robert. I was about to leave but he spoke again, "Hey no, sweet pea why the rush? I need more time with you." He mocked in a high pitched voice. The ice cold laugh at the end blew up his 'broken lover' cover.
My body shook with fury, he played with my heart again and I allowed it like a fool. I fell for it, I believed every single word he said. I turned around and walked fast towards him, "I'd rather be set on fire than staying a second with a heartless monster like you!" I shouted and pushed him forcefully, throwing punches on his chest that didn't have the slightest effect on him. I dropped my fists and a lump appeared in my throat, "Oh that was harsh, it actually hurts." He sneered, placing a hand over his heart. "Stay out of my life, stop screwing it up leave us alone!" He smirked proudly, "Aw babe, you are the one who brought me back into your life." I groaned angrily at the truth and turned away, not mentally able to argue with that despicable devil.
I rushed to the stairways to explain what happened to Robert. I took two steps at a time, hoping that I could catch him before he leaves. As I pushed the doors to enter the main floor, I spotted Robert walking out of the two huge glass front doors and my heart leapt, "Robert wait!" I hurriedly called and ran to him. His shoulders tensed but he didn't stop walking, he chose to ignore me. "Dammit Robert wait." I pushed past the doors trying to catch up with him, "Please let me explain." I loudly called again and kept chasing after him but he was using the cold silent treatment again. Fortunately, there were no papz around. We reached our cars and I quickly ran to stand in his way, "It's not what it looked like." I said, blocking him from opening his car door. I couldn't read his eyes; they were hidden under his sunglasses, but the tight line that his lips were forming made it clear that he was angry. He blew out his cheeks out of annoyance and moved me out of his way. "Robert!" I yelled, knocking on the window but He didn't bother to even look at me, he started the car and drove away.
I got in my car as well and drove as fast as I could to the place I know by heart, the place I call home. I can't lose him, I can't let him believe that I'd betray him. He's all I got, I'll not let him slip away easily from me because of a false idea he happened to believe. I shouldn't have asked Ace to solve the problem in the first place, I shouldn't have even brought his name up. What was I thinking? He's a damn cancer that pollutes everything pure.You're so stupid, look what you've done now! I yelled at myself, slamming my hands against the steering wheel. Tears blurred my vision and regret started nagging on me.
Driving fast under the boiling hot sun while your emotions running wild, eating the hell out of your heart wasn't the safest thing to do. After a battle with myself, I was lucky enough to reach our house without a scratch. I arrived just a couple of seconds after Robert, I didn't care to park right, I jumped out of my car and followed him. Robert swung the front door wide open and started to make his way up to the bedroom, avoiding my presence, "Robert." I croaked out, climbing the stairs after him, "Will you please listen to me, I wasn't kissing him don't ignore me like that."
