Real Nightmare X Reader

You were apart of dreamtale. You lived in a little house by yourself and often played with dream. You wondered about his brother nightmare though, he never seemed to play with the rest of you and always read books.

I walked down the path that lead to the tree that both nightmare and dream protected though I didn't didn't see dream instead only nightmare was there reading a book on his side of the tree.

I had never really spoken to him before, I thought maybe this would be a good chance to get to know him a bit more. I walked over onto the grass getting closer to the tree and stopped when I was right by it.

"Um...hello" I called out to him

Him seem a bit startled at first then relaxed looking uo at his book to me.

"Oh, hi, if your looking for my brother he went off with the rest to play"

"...I was but...why are you here by yourself don't you want to play to?" I asked him

"No...I rather read than run around " nightmare said and went back to his book

"Oh" I said and sat down next to him, not that he minded.

"What are you reading?" I asked him

"One of the books the elder brought me, it's called the ugly duckling"

"Oh, I've read that story before" I smiled

"Can I read it with you?" You asked

"Oh,Uh sure" nightmare said sharing the book with you and the both of you read together.

"Say nightmare, don't you think this book is a built childish for our age" I smiled again

"Heh, yeah but I quiet enjoy this book, I have other books also if you'd rather-"

"No that's okay" I smiled and went back to the book.

I spent the rest of my day reading with nightmare until dream cane back then I left to go run some errands.

"I'll see you guys later" I waved goodbye to them and they waved back.

For the next few days I had been busy for work, but I had some free time this time so I decided to pay nightmare a visit again.

On my way I saw the other. I'll ages monster and humans whispering descreetly about somwthing, most had a look of pity on their face.

As soon as I had arrived I saw some monsters and humans throwing rocks and saying mean things to nightmare. I watched as the other villagers said nothing and I frowned.

I ran up to the group that decided to bully him and blocked them from throwing more stuff. They haunted for a bit.

"Hey what are you doing get out of the way" one of them said

"No way, what do you think your doing throwing rocks at him !?"

"So what, he's the gaurdian of negative feelings, his name is nightmare, he must be bad"

"You can't just go around profiling others, you don't even know anything about him, you jerks!"

"Whatever you suck for protecting that guy"

"And you suck for hurting others that didn't do anything to you, and so do you people for just standing there and watching! !" I pointed at them and they turned their head in shame.

"Of you guys try anythibg on him again you'll have to deal with me and it won't be pretty!" O threatned them

"W..whatever" they said and left.
