The eleven year old Diggory now, stepped in the Hogwarts Express, fear clenching in her stomach. Cedric hadn't accompanied her, due to the fact that he'd be taking care of Amos' sister for a couple of weeks.

Alice eventually found a empty compartment and plopped down next to the window, looking outside of it with a long sigh. Mothers waved to their children, and a sense of anxiousness shivered down Alice's spine as she realized for the first time in her life, she was truly and completely alone. Not one family member was beside her, or even near her. Amos himself had joined Cedric to visit his sister for reasons Alice wasn't quite sure of, and although the man was anything but caring towards her, she was still quite nervous to be away from the only people that loved her, if only just a bit. She fiddled with her fingers, before a slight noise caused her ears to perk.

"Hi," A girl with short, black hair approached Alice.

The younger Diggory turned to the girl and replied politely, "Hello."

"Can I sit here?" The stranger asked, while pointing to the seat just across from Alice. "Everywhere else is full."

"Sure."

"First time?" The girl asked as soon as she had sat down. She crossed her legs and leaned back in her seat, eyeing Alice expectantly.

"Yeah, I'm a first year."

The new girl smiled widely. "Me too!"

"Cool! What's your name?"

"I'm Pansy Parkinson. And you are?"

"My name is Alice. Alice Diggory."

"Half-blood?"

Her words stunned Alice for a moment. How could she tell such a thing? Was there a spell to detect blood types? If so, why hadn't Alice read about it? The questioning girl nodded cautiously, and Pansy laughed, amused.
