Sasunaru - The scorpion king

Chapter 5

Konahamaru, helped Sasuke sneak into Orochimaru's palace. "Ok! This is as far as I can go." He looked up at Sasuke expectantly. Sasuke rolled his eyes and tossed the ruby into the child's hand. "Don't go spend it all in one place kid." With that, they went their separate ways.

Orochimaru was surrounded fifteen by guards, carrying long sticks in their in their hands. They came at him and he took them down one by one, killing each of them. Once he was done a round of applauses was heard. He kicked the dead body close to him in disgust. "Pathetic, you'd think these pathetic in human dogs would be of a challenge."

"Truly we see why you're the king, my lord." Said Sai with a fake smile on his face as he leaned against a tree.Orochimaru glared at him and growled. "Don't patronize me." Orochimaru clapped his hands twice and in an instance he was surrounded by servants.

"I don't know if it was just my luck or these soldiers are downright pathetic. Sai, I'll need you to get Neji from the dungeon and get him to train these worthless soldiers. If he refuses, tell him I will kill his clan. He seems to know I won't kill his 'precious' Naruto."

He ordered. It took everything in Sai to not snarl at the man. 'No worries, it won't be long before I kill this man and take the thrown' Sai inwardly smirked at his thought. "As you wish my lord." He bowed and walked away. "Soon." He whispered to himself.

Sasuke cursed as he try to get a clear shot at Orochimaru with his arrow. 'Come one move!' He demand due to servants surrounding the man. Sasuke had hid himself on the roof the moment he had found Orochimaru. "Just one clear shot and this will be all over." He said to himself.

An opportunity had come for a clear shot when a couple of servants moved out of the way. Sasuke smirked, this was his chance. He stop however when heard the sound of scream. Two guards walk in with a child who was kicking and screaming. He recognized the child to be that Konahamaru kid that got him in here.

"What is the meaning of this?" He heard Orochimaru demand the guards that bowed down before him. "My lord, we found this street child sneaking around the palace. He also had this in his hand." One of the guards revealed the ruby. Orochimaru pinched the bridge of his nose and muttered curses under his breath. "I don't have the patients, nor the time for this. Just chop of his hands, he'll learn his lessons from that."

"As you wish my lord." One guard held down the boy's body while the other stretched out the boy's arms. Another guard had joined them and pulled out his sword. Sasuke was torn between saving the boy and killing Orochimaru. Sasuke cursed and shot his arrow at guard with the sward through. The guard fell on the ground with a thud.

The distraction was enough for the guards to loosen their hold on Konahamaru to allow him to quickly get away. Servants scurried away and soldiers surrounded Orochimaru. Sasuke drew more arrows before retreating. "What are you standing here for? Find Sasuke and don't let him get away." Orochimaru snarled at his guards.

The soldiers were everywhere. Sasuke had a couple of run ins with them but he managed to take them down. He was up number and he needed to find a way out fast. He found a room which and quickly walked into it before a guard could spot him. He looked around the room to see it had things that looked like to be some strange constructions.

"What is the commotion out there?" Said a deep voice that sounded lazy behind the mountains of constructions. Sasuke drew out his sward expecting to be attacked. The man behind the voice revealed himself. He had brown hair tied up into a pony tail which stuck out like some kind of pineapple. His eyes were black and he looked as if he had a lazy look on him. His one ankle chained to wherever the chain started.

"Huh? Well I'll be? If it isn't Sasuke?" Sasuke looked at the man with a confused look on his face. "You don't remember me?" Sasuke shook his head slowly. "Well, you're the smartest man I know apart from Neji and your brother..." Sasuke looked away at the last part as an image of his brother's death came to mind.

This was not missed by the lazy genius. He cleared his throat and continued to speak. "So it must be that you're suffering from some kind of memory loss." He mused. "Well allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Shikamaru Nara." Sasuke gave him a nod in acknowledgement, put away his sword, before asking. "How do you know my name?"

Sasuke curiously walked around looking at the strange constructions. "We were friends when we were little." Sasuke reached out is hand to one of these constructions. "Dah, dah, dah, dah, dah. Touch that one and it will chop off your fingers." Sasuke quickly retrieved his hand and cleared his throat. "What is all this?" He asked. "These are my inventions." Shikamaru replied.

Sasuke saw one that was larger than the others facing the window. "What is that?" "That is to be use to fling flames during the war." Sasuke looked at Shikamaru blankly, not a bit of emotion on his face. "If you can build such things why not use them to escape?" Shikamaru sighed.

"That would mean losing my family." Sasuke was about to say something but was interrupted when they heard a commotion that sounded like it far away outside Shikamaru's door. He walked to the door and peeked just a little to find guards searching rooms. He quickly but gently closed the door and hurried across the room to the large construction by the window.

He looked the window to find that right across but still a little far away was another window. He looked at the construction with calculating eyes and then looked at Shikamaru. "Would this thing be able to fling me across?" "Yeah, but it's never been tested on a human." Sasuke appeared to be taking that information in and gave one last glance to the construction. "I'll take my chances."

He said as he hopped on the thing and cut the rope that held it back, flinging him out the window.
