Sasunaru - The scorpion king

Chapter 17

"We should head north, that way we'll get to Suna quickly." Said Sasuke. Suigetsu groaned. "Oh fearless leader can't we rest for a moment. The sun is way too angry today and I ran out of water." He whined. Sakura and Ino just rolled the eyes. "Is he always?" Asked Ino.

"Sasuke, please let us rest." Suigetsu latched himself on Sasuke's back. Sasuke scowled and roughly shoved Suigetsu off of him. Suigetsu faked sob. "Naruto please get through to him." But he didn't get a response from the blond headed man. "Naruto?" The turned to the silent blond who was staring of into the distance behind them.

"Hay Naruto, is someone coming?" Asked a weary Suigetsu. Naruto said nothing and ran towards the direction they came from. "Naruto, if its danger, you don't run towards it... you run away from it." Suigetsu screamed after the blond as the group ran after him. Naruto stopped and looked on with a smile. In the distance were nine people on horseback, once they were close they stopped their horses.

A woman that possessed featureless white eyes with a tinge of lavender. She had dark blue hair that reached above her lower back tied into a ponytail and strands that were shoulder- length. She had on a lavender cream- coloured yukata that hugged her noticeable figure. Flower patterns of navy blue married her yukata.

"Naruto!" She ran towards Naruto with tears in her eyes. "Hinata!" Naruto also ran towards her with tears in his eyes, they embraced each other and fell on their knees onto the sand ground, both crying into each other's arms. Words of 'You're ok' and 'I missed you' were heard in between the sobs. Not long after the other the others that were with Hinata joined in on the hugs. "You guys are all ok." Naruto said in between his sobs, he then looked around and a frown married his face. "Where's old man Saratobi?" He asked.

Hinata looked down with sad eyes. A man with messy brown hair, sharp black eyes with vertical slit-like pupils and pronounced canine teeth. He also had the distinctive red fang markings on his cheeks. He was dressed in a plain grey kimono and navy sandals. His eyes full of sorrow as he pulled Hinata up into his arms. "Kiba...?"

Naruto said brokenly as he turned his gaze at a tired, beaten looking man, who had fair skin and long black hair with tint of dark brown tied back in a loose ponytail a few inches above the end and framed his face. Just like Hinata, he also had featureless white eyes; with a slight tint of lavender. He had on a white kimono- shirt with long, loose sleeves, matching pants and navy- grey sandals.

"Neji...?" Naruto whispered in a pleading voice for him to say something. Neji closed his eyes and looked away. Naruto turned his gaze to a man with fair skin, spiky silver hair, and dark grey eyes with a vertical scar on his left eye. A masked that covered the lower of his face and a typically relaxed, heavy- lidded expression while tried to comfort a man with tanned skin, brown hair that was kept in a ponytail, dark brown eyes and a scar that runs across the bridge of his nose. "Kakashi?... Iruka?"

Iruka shook his head with tears threatening to fall from his eyes. Naruto turned to a woman and two men, the woman had tan- ish skin, brown hair in two Chinese- style buns that were braided and held together by a short plait that falls just below her shoulders, straight bangs that covered her forehead.

She also had brown eyes and had on a white sleeveless, high- collared qipao dress with red trimmings with a small slit on each side and a pink flame pattern on the left, tied with a maroon obi with black shoes. One man with short spiky orange hair, tanned skin and blue eyes. He wore a black kimono long sleeved shirt with green trimmings and dark pants.

He place a gentle on the red headed man next to him, with pale white skin and green eyes. (An: I know, just pretend.) "Tenten? Yahiko? Nagato? Please answer me." Naruto refused to believe the thought that came across his mind as he watched said people bow their heads. "Shikamaru, please tell me his alright?"

Shikamaru shook his head and muttered. "I'm sorry Naruto, but he didn't make it." Naruto felt his heart break, he placed his hand on his chest as he shook his head in disbelief, tears rolling down his cheeks. Sakura and Ino stood close together with their hand over their hearts. Suigetsu cast his eye down and turned away. Sasuke walked over to Naruto and placed a hand on his shoulder, Naruto turned to look at Sasuke and jumped into his arms.

Sasuke rubbed comforting circles on his back, while he sobbed on Sasuke's chest. "It's ok," Sasuke whispered into his ear. "...we'll avenge him along with all our loved ones." Naruto calmed down a little. Sasuke looked up to the group around them. "Let's head out." Was all he said, while still comforting Naruto.
