Chapter 13

Sai sat by the window that showed a view of the kingdom, he was startled however when the door was slammed open and a frustrated looking Orochimaru walked in, with a psychotic look on his face. "Why aren't they here?" Orochimaru questioned no one in particular. Sai's shocked look disappeared and was replaced by a neutral look.

He watched as Orochimaru paced back and forth. "They have failed me." Growled Orochimaru. "I they didn't they would have been here with Naruto by now." Sai rolled his eyes, crossed his arms and turned his head to look out the window once again.

"Maybe they are a little delayed. There might have encountered a little bit of trouble on the way." Sai suggested without looking at Orochimaru. Orochimaru huffed and eyed Sai. "You're being awfully calm about this?" Sai shrugged.

"Might I remind you without Naruto, I will not be able to gain total domination. They can't afford to be 'delayed', just as you suggest." Orochimaru snarled. "Yes, yes, that I know. The only reason I'm this calm is because I have faith that you my Lord, will be able to take charge of such a complicated matter."

Sai turned his head to see Orochimaru with a smug look on his face. He inwardly smirked to himself. 'Sugar coat him and the throne will be all you're Sai. But first you need to make sure he meets his doom.' He thought to himself.

"But first my Lord you need to think with a level head. The rebels are getting out of hand. I strongly advice that you get that under control first. I'm sure your men... and woman will be back with Naruto, long before your done straitening a few crooked end." 'Get him to do all the hard work for me.' Orochimaru thought about it for a moment.

"Hmm, yes. That seems like a very good idea." Orochimaru mused, he pursed his lips harshly and suddenly gave a sinister grin. He clicked his fingers and in an instant a guard was bowing before him. "Get the finest men and try to get rid of those pesky resistance. The last thing I want is for someone to ruin my plans."

Orochimaru walked over to his throne and sat down. "Very well see to it that you get rid-" A soldier burst into the throne room and bowed down be for Orochimaru. "What is the meaning of this interruption?" Orochimaru snarled at the soldier.

The soldier shifted on his weight a little, he kept his head down, too afraid to lift it and look at Orochimaru. "M-my Lord! I come with important news..." The soldier trailed of not sure if to continue with what he came to do. He turned his head little to look at Sai, who looked at him curiously. "Important news you say?"

Orochimaru rose an eyebrow, and eyed the soldier. The frightened man cleared his throat. "Y-yes my Lord." Orochimaru ran out of patience and snapped at the man bowing before him. "Well then spit it out." He snarled. "A message bird had come with a message regarding, Naruto my Lord. One of the scouts saw him in a small village with, Sasuke."

Orochimaru banged his hand on the armrest of his throne. "Looks like the men you've sent failed Lord Orochimaru." Said Sai he inwardly chuckled. Orochimaru glared at Sai. "Don't you mark me." Orochimaru hissed. "...But there's another thing my Lord..."

Orochimaru turned his glare at the soldier that dared continue to speak. "What is it?" He venomously asked the soldier, who once again feared for his life. "A-a c-couple o-of the people that w-were working for y-you my Lord have escaped...seven to be exact my Lord."

The soldier gasped as he felt something pierce his chest, stabbing at his lung not so far from his heart. He looked down with wide shocked eyes to see a dagger sticking on his chest. He looked up at Orochimaru, who had a mad look on his pale face and fell to the ground from his kneeling position. Blood pooled around his body as his life drained out of him.

Orochimaru clicked his fingers together and the servants immediately removed the dead man's body. "Must I do everything myself?" Sai sigh. "How do you expect win the war if you keep killing your soldier?" He asked with a marking tone.

His arms crossed over his chest, with a nonchalant look on his face while he watched the servants clean the man's blood from the floor. Orochimaru said nothing. "Prepare a lot of my good soldiers, find out who escaped and shed some blood in the village nearby." He growled out his words. "Idiots, that's all I'm surrounded with...idiots!" He mumbled under his breath.
