Sasunaru - The scorpion king

Chapter 22

Night fell, the moon was full and the stars prettied the dark sky. Music and cheering could be heard as people danced, drank and ate around the fire. "Ahh, it feels good to just relax for once. Not having to run away from Orochimaru's soldiers or having to fight mean people for food or money." Suigetsu slurred out, his face a little pink from the alcohol he consumed.

He glanced at Sasuke who hasn't touched his cup, his dark eyes watch Naruto as he danced and laughed with Hinata, Sakura, Ino, Tenten and Nagato. Naruto swayed his hips side to side slowly and seductively, he twirled around and continued on with his belly dancing.

Sakura, Ino and Tenten gave cat calls to Naruto's performance. He stopped and blushed and laughed at whatever it was that Nagato had said. Sasuke noticed other men eying Naruto with lust, he growled and tightened his hold on his cup. This action went noticed by Suigetsu's watchful eye and decided to tease Sasuke.

"Hooo, Naruto sure knows how to dance." He took a sip of his alcohol. "Yeah, I just got hard just watching him." He noticed Sasuke giving him a dangerous looking side wards glance, he shivered, knowing he could possibly die, but choice to ignore it.

"You think if I ask nicely, he'll let me in?" He asked. Sasuke casted his cup aside and he harshly grabbed Suigetsu by his shirt. "You so much as touch him and you'll wish you died by Orochimaru's hands because I can do much, much worse than that sick fuck would do to you." He growled, mid night eyes piercing through Suigetsu's amethyst orbs.

Suigetsu gulped, he chuckled and nodded his head nervously. "I was just kidding fearless leader." Suigetsu felt his heart might stop if Sasuke kept staring at him so menacingly. "Hn." Sasuke harshly let go of Suigetsu and walked away.

Suigetsu sighed in relief and touched himself as if to check he was alive. Naruto laughed as he twirled around and he accidently bumped into someone. He quickly turned to the person he bumped into and quickly apologised. "I-I'm so sorry... I-I didn't see you there." He bowed his head in embarrassment.

The person chuckled with a deep voice. "No need to apologised Naruto." Said Gaara. Naruto refused to look up at the man in the eyes, his face was a colour of bright red. Gaara gently pushed Naruto's head up so he can look into his eyes. "May I have this dance?" He steps back and he offers his hand.

Naruto hesitates, but takes his hand. He turned his gaze to the band, signalling them to change the song. People stopped and watched, everybody at awe as they watch Gaara and Naruto dance together with such grace. At the end of the dance, Naruto and Gaara share a moment.

Naruto smiles, while Gaara had a look of attraction. Everybody cheers excepting for Sasuke, who just growled and walks away. (An: If you've watched 'the avatar the last airbender', just imagine Naruto and Gaara as 'Aang and Katara' when the danced together.)

"Naruto, I must admit you are far more beautiful than a mere jewel." Naruto blushed at the complement Gaara gave him and gave a meek thank you. "Might it be possible by any chance that you and I be together?" Naruto opened his mouth and closed it.

He cast his eyes aside sadly. "I'm sorry Gaara, but someone else has stolen my heart and took refuge in my mind." Gaara looked down, feeling disappointed, but he brushed it aside and smiled a small smile at Naruto. "Whoever that person is must be the luckiest person in the world." Naruto quickly turned his sapphire orbs to Gaara with mild shock and smiled at him. He gave Gaara a hug and walked away.
