Chapter 18

It was night fall and fourteen figures could be seen around the fire to keep warm. "We could have been at Suna already." Naruto pursed his lips and look up at Sasuke owlishly. "I'm sure we could still make it. Neji was badly injured, by morning he'll wake up good as new and we could continue our little quest to Suna.

Try having a little heart will you Sasuke." Sasuke scowled, before he could respond, Naruto had got up and walk towards Hinata, who was watching over a green glowing Neji. Suigetsu who was sitting next to Sasuke, had overheard their little argument, snorted while staring at Naruto's retreating back. Sasuke gave him a look of annoyance, Suigetsu just shrugged.

"What, Naruto has no idea what his talking about. The day you could have a heart would be the day I turn into a woman. Though I wonder what's between the two of you. You two have this strange tension going on right now." Suigetsu continued to watch Naruto as he placed on Hinata's shoulder.

Sasuke growled when he felt that Suigetsu was staring a little too long at Naruto and Suigetsu raised his hands in surrender. "Don't worry, fearless leader. I'm not moving into your territory." Suigetsu teased. "But whatever problems you have with our sweet blond over there, fix it, because you'll regret losing him due to your arrogant issues."

Was all he said as he turned to Sakura and Ino, joining in on their conversation. Sasuke sighed and stared at the burning flame emotionlessly. Naruto placed a gentle hand on Hinata's right. The white eyed woman appeared startled and looked up at the intruder, only see Naruto with a gentle smile on his face. "Hay, you alright?" Hinata sighed and looked back at her unconscious cousin.

"Yeah! I'm just a little worried about Neji, that's all." Naruto moved to sit beside her. "He'll be fine. The spell I casted up him will heal him completely. He'll be as good as knew when he gets up. Just have a little faith." Naruto tried to cheer the black headed woman up. Hinata smiled a little, but as quickly as that smile came, it fell.

Naruto felt pity for the black headed woman. He placed his arm around Hinata's shoulder to try and comfort her. It had scared Hinata when Neji just collapsed of his horse and onto the sandy ground. Neji was like a big brother to her, she felt guilty that Neji had to suffer because of her. If she had just let Orochimaru have his way with her, Neji wouldn't have been looked up in the dungeon and tortured.

"Hello darkness, my old friend. I've come to talk with you again. Because a vision softly creeping. Left its seeds while I was sleeping. And the vision that was planted in my brain, still remains within the sound of silence." Hinata sang softly and Naruto shook his head. "As much as I love that song that's a little sad. You're not alone you know. We're still family even if we're not related. We're all worried about Neji. Well except that grouch over there," Naruto pointed at Sasuke with his head and Hinata giggled.

"...I don't know what's up with him. But I know somewhere over the rainbow, he cares." Hinata smiled a little at Naruto. They both looked over the group, Kakashi, Iruka, Nagato and Yahiko all sat together in their own conversation. Sakura and Ino laughing at whatever it was that Suigetsu said. Shikamaru and Sasuke were having their own conversation, which seemed serious to even bother to want to know about it.

Tenten and Kiba laughed amongst each other as they shared jokes. "First verse and you know it does not get any worse. I got my friends and my pals, singing this to nurse. They wish our voices bring you peace on this earth, because in the name of Jesus Christ we were blessed at birth. With the gift of sing your sorrows away, we will sing until we drive your sorrows away. Please don't cry, winds of change are blowing away. And I know I don't know who you are but I know, we are family..." While Naruto was singing softly to Hinata, they were ambushed and the whole group was captured before any of them could react.

Well that's chapter 17 for handed on a golden plate. Though, who could guess who captured the gang? The song that Hinata was singing was 'Sounds of silence' by Simon and Garfunkel and the on Naruto was singing was 'I've got joy in my heart' by The Soil.
