                              Chapter 9 - Nightmares...
It wasn't long until the evening came back around again. It's funny how the time flies by when you are having fun. And that's what I was having. Fun. For the first time in years I was having fun. Joking around. Laughing my head off. Thanks to Lucas I forgot all about my past. I forgot all about my problems an how I ended up in New York City.
As for Lucas. He's growing on me. Considering he is a stranger who took me in and nursed me, I owe him my life...our lives. The baby has moved tonight. The food and water has seemed to wake us both up.
"I'll be back in a minute" Lucas called out from the kitchen. "I'm just getting some fire wood."
With that, he put his coat and gloves on and walked out of the door, letting a whistling wave of wind into the hut.
Whilst he was gone I sat there. Doing nothing. Sitting on the bed staring into space. With nothing to do, I felt my eyelids getting heavier by the second. I must stay awake until Lucas gets back. Come on Fleur, stay awake! I couldn't fight it any longer. Instead, I welcomed sleep with open arms.
"Give in to me Fleur. Do you have any other hope?"
He was getting closer to me. With ever step he took towards me, I took two backwards. His long strides soon made me have to take three steps back to keep up with him. My back hit a wall, refusing any more movement taking place. I was stuck. Nowhere to run. I was cornered. He carried on advancing.
"Look what mess you have yourself in now. All you have to do is help me and you can be free again."
"I won't believe you. I will never give in!"
"Oh honey, I have heard you say that one before"
A smirk grew on his face. He knew he had won. Once again, I was left hopeless and useless. No other way of escaping.
"Have you not learnt yet? I always get my own way"
His face was inches away from mine. he leant in. He was getting closer and closer. I look at the face towering over me. It was Jack. Jack was back. And this time, he had company. I looked over his shoulder. Lucas. Lucas was standing in the corner. He looked guilty yet a smirk was seen on his face. I was alone. I had no-one left to help me. Help me!
                              "Fleur!!"
I opened my eyes to see Lucas staring at me. His face was full of concern. My eyes were filled with tears and nothing was stopping them from coming down. My whole body was covered in sweat. Lucas pulled me into a comforting hug.
"Ssh...it was just a bad dream. It was just a bad dream." He repeated.
I continued to cry into his shirt. There's a thing me about the nightmare. Was it really just a dream?
