"AAAAHHHHHHHH!"
I woke up to a dirty floor and a glass of water being thrown in my face.
I brushed the wet hair away from my face and looked up to see Connor holding my blanket, Travis holding an empty glass of water, and Ethan standing over me grinning.
"YOU GUYS ARE PSYCHOTIC!" I screamed.
They just snickered. I rolled my eyes, got up and brushed myself off, then put on an orange camp half blood t-shirt that I had found on my mattress. i slipped on a red flannel shirt, jean shorts, and combat boots.
Ethan punched me in the shoulder playfully as I braided my long red hair. He then sat down on my bunk and watched me braid. When I had finished he got up and led me outside.
"What are we doing?" I asked.
"Someone has to take you to get your first weapon."
I crossed my arms and smiled. "And you want to be there when I do?"
"If you want." he said.
"Uh...sure, yeah.....uh huh." I blushed.
Ethan led me across camp to a small shaded area where a variety of weapons had been strewn everywhere around the trees. He looked around for a minute among the piles of blades and pointy edges and tips, then his eyes lit up and he pointed to something.
"Hand me that sword." He told me. It was a large sword that had a four foot blade and a hilt made of thick metal.
I walked over and grabbed the glimmering golden sword, but it was so heavy it weighed me down and I fell on my face, kicking up dust as I hit the ground.
I stuck my hand up as I hit the dirt. "I'm okay!"
"Okay, no spatha for you." Ethan grimaced as he helped me up and tossed the sword aside as if it weighed absolutely nothing. He then bent down, grabbed a small spear and handed it to me. "You seem more into lighter weapons, this is called a javelin."
"What do I do? Stab people with it?"
"You throw it."
"Oh." I threw the little spear as hard as I could, but it only sailed a few feet. (Pathetic.)
"Whoops." I shrugged, picked it up, and handed it to Ethan.
"That's okay, javelin's not for everyone." He said as he picked it up. Then, just to prove me wrong he threw the javelin WHAM! right into the middle of a tree.
I rolled my eyes. "What's next."
Ethan handed me a three pronged spear. "I think you can do alright with a trident."
I swung the trident around multiple times and stabbed it at a tree. It wasn't long before It became stuck. I yanked on it, but it was no use. "Ugh! Give it back!" I put both hands on the trident and both feet on the tree and pulled.
"AAHHHH!" The trident came loose no problem, but it landed like three inches from my head.
I dusted myself off and stood up. "Alright, what's next?"
Ethan thought to himself for a moment. "Not sure, but you need some serious practice."
"Hey!" I protested. "I may not exactly excel in the art of buttkicking, but I can learn." I said, then rummaged through the deadly pile of weapons until I pulled out a dagger.
"You want a knife?"
I looked at the weapon I had chosen. It had a clear, curved blade, and a silver hilt that was adorned with moonstones. The blade was about two feet long and was hardly a knife or a dagger, but it was definitely too short to be a sword.
