Chapter 47: To the Rescue

STELLA'S P.O.V

My hand was on the door handle but I held it there. I couldn't open the door yet as on the other side I was hearing some noises. I decided to listen for a while before opening the door. Gun shots. Screaming. And bodies falling to the ground. It sounded like a massacre.

Then the noises suddenly stopped. I let go of the door handle and walked back a few steps. Keeping a defensive stance as I angled my knife towards the door and whoever might be on the other side of it. 

I heard faint footsteps coming closer to the other side of the door. Any minute now, the door would open. But I'd be ready for it. I tightened my grip on the spiral knife as the door finally opened but slowly. Then there was a guy in black pants, black shirt and a black mask.

He was holding a gun. And he had several knives strapped all over his front. And even though his outfit is all black, it's easy to see the blood on him. It was all over him, even on his weapons. 

I looked at him and waited for any sign of attack. I eyed him up and down as I tried to show him I wasn't afraid. It took him a while but then he moved. It surprised me because why would he drop his weapons? Unless...

"Oh My God! You really are her! I can't believe it!" a familiar voice said. I tilted my head as I looked at him. Yes, the person in front of me is a guy. And he is currently 'fangirling'.

"Oh, I forgot." he said before he pulled off his mask. My jaw dropped as I looked at him. I cannot believe it. This person in front of me, armed with weapons and his clothes, almost dripping with blood. 

It was MinHyuk. What was he doing here? Was he another kkangpae? How much of a threat was he?

"What are you doing here? How did you know I was here?" were all I could say at the moment.

"It was easy, Yong Hwa went to the underground venue and told everyone that he had caught a member of Royal Princesses. Of course, nobody believed him. But I wanted to know if he was lying or not, so I decided to go."

"And when I was just outside, his men were guarding the doors as if there was someone of importance inside. Therefore, I came to a conclusion that a member of the Royal Princesses was here."

"But I must say, I did not think that you would be her. I mean, you seemed so innocent like you didn't even know what kkangpaes do. But here I am, talking to a legend." He smiled at me in a rather adorable smile, but I can't even smile back.

There are a lot of questions forming in my head right now, I don't know what this means. I am so confused right now. I didn't even know what to say to him right now. He must have noticed the confused look on my face so he spoke up.

"I'm guessing you're confused about everything that's happening. Well, to explain, I'm a kkangpae. I work as a nurse but I can't leave my kkangpae life behind. And the reason why I'm a nurse is because I'm the nurse of other kkangpaes who were injured but need medical attention without being questioned too much by other nurses or doctors." 

It took me a minute to finally get what he said. So, he's a kkangpae. And I'm impressed. I looked just outside the door and saw more than 20 dead bodies on the ground.

Once everything had finally sunk in, I looked to MinHyuk again. And I spoke.

"MinHyuk, can you please keep this a secret? I don't want anybody else to know." he nodded with understanding but his face changed and showed that he was worried.

"What about your dad? I don't think he knows about this."

"He doesn't and I'd like to keep it that way. Just, please MinHyuk. I just want nobody else finding out about me and my girls."
