Alex hit the wall and landed on his stomach, hitting the floor hard. He coughed as the wind was knocked out of him. Groaning as he stood, Alex looked up in time to see Hades' fist come into contact with his jaw, sending him flying again.
"Alex!" Kayne's voice sounded flustered as he watched his friend tumble through the air.
Landing on his feet somehow, Alex swung his head up to look at his father, who was glaring at him as he strutted menacingly towards him.
"You were my son! I gave you everything, boy! And this is how you repay me?" Hades hollered above all the commotion of the fighting at the entrance to the throne room.
Alex scowled, "You gave me less than nothing!" He stood up, but didn't move towards Hades, knowing that his father could easily overpower his own strength. He needed to be strategic and not fight like a moron.
Damn, strategies were not his strong suit. Definitely would be Kayne's area of expertise. Why did this have to be so hard? Normally, Alex just let his body lead, not really thinking about what he was doing. His body wasn't doing that this time...
"Make your move now, or never," Hades chided, grinning from ear to ear, possibly reading Alex's thoughts and taunting him.
"Don't tell me what to do," Alex snarled, glaring his pitch black eyes at his father, bearing his fangs.
"You should listen to him," Kayne called from somewhere in the background.
Goddamn it! Was there any other time he could have called that out.
"Fine. Don't listen to me, listen to your oddball friend over there," Hades said with a smirk.
"Fuck off," Alex growled as he began running towards his father, gaining speed. Hades stood there with his surprisingly white teeth showing as he grinned, looking like an idiot.
Alex's brain didn't like what he was doing, although pressing forward and listening to Kayne's shouted command, Alex felt like a moron. He held his clawed fingers at the ready for an attack of some sort, speed continuously increasing.
"Slide!" Kayne called out as Hades began moving his own body into a move that was probably set to grab at Alex's neck. Instead, he grabbed empty air as he slid by on his knees, slashing open a gash on Hades' calf, using the leg as a pivot point to help him turn around and roll to his feet, now off to Hades right side.
"Bastard!" Hades called out, a growl deep within his throat.
"What? You can dish it out but can't take it?" Alex said with a minor smile that lasted the half second that it took for Hades to come at him in a dangerous side-swipe aimed for his face. Alex didn't have the time to react, so he got hit full-force, and got sent flying a few feet and skidded on the floor.
Hades said nothing, which was different from his normal witty remarks that he made. Seriously, one hit had gotten into his head that fast? He stalked towards Alex, anger flashing in his eyes like dancing flames.
Alex shakily stood up, ready for whatever his father was about to dish out. He had taken so much pain from this man, it wasn't like he wasn't used to it.
Right as Hades was about to smash his fist into Alex, who was planning to dodge, an arrow flew through his chest. Glancing down, a look of disgust passed over Hades' face. He glanced behind him, seeing Kayne with the bow still held up in the 'ready-to-fire' position.
"You little bastard, do you realize how much that hurt?" Hades bellowed, stopping the fighting that was going on at the entrance to stare at him for a minute.
Kayne smirked, although fear was clear in his eyes, "Nope, I don't. Most people just die after getting hit with a poison arrow."
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME THIS THING WAS POISONED?" Hades howled, ripping the wooden shaft from his chest and throwing it to the floor.
